with 22 of my 27 mechs above 21.5K xp in the Master level, the x2 XP thingy does nothing for me. notta... BUT world of tanks has it, so I guess it is expected by the community to have it here in MWO as well.

Does nothing for me as well seeing as all my mechs are topped out with xp. The only thing it's doing is slowing increasing my GXP.

Maybe it's because I'm a psychology student but it feels like the bonuses are actually incentivizing me to play LESS, since I have a clear means of measuring my grinding- once I've ground out the double XP time, I tend not to play much beyond that.
Could it be that it just feels that way because I'm switching mechs a lot?
Anyone else notice this/feel this way?

If you look at it from your 'psychology student' view, what do you call it when a reward is offered to accomplish an action, but when the reward is removed you are no longer motivated to do the action?
For me I play mechs I haven't played for a while to get that '*ding* you have leveled!' sense when I win the double xp, but when it is gone... I just go back to my favorite mechs of the day. I am thinking it helps bring more variety in the mechs I see in drops also.
All in all, I think I play a little more with the double XP, and I certainly play more mechs.

The change made me play much less... I only log on to finish 2x bonuses and log off.

It definitely encourage me to play a more variety of mech and longer sessions.
mech that I have mastered and collecting dust get played again, who could really say no to free stuff(MXP/GXP)?
with my win ratio at 0.9, I have to spend several match to gain that bonus EXP, so I also end up playing longer.
the game feel less tedious now compare to when I only pilot 2 or 3 of my favourited for several hours non stop, something about variety and spice of life.

The bonus affects GXP too.
Playing just to clear the 2XP bonus from mechs you otherwise don't play is a handy way to amass GXP very quickly.

Funny how you have to spend MC to convert mech Xp to GXP isn't it? Also, the touchy slider bar when it comes to selecting how much Mech XP you want to convert leads to you using more MC than you wanted to. It would be nice if they changed it to a click button so you could increase or decrease by ones and/or an amount box where you could enter the actual amount you wanted to convert

Huh? You gain GXP at a rate of 5% of regular XP earned no matter what. This change allows you to accumulate free GXP twice as fast.
