Ammo In Legs Prohibited

For instance, CASE could lower the ammo explosion damage by 50-75%... whatever leftover damage would be applied to internals.
You could "alternatively" use the side torso's internal components (like DHS or weapons) to buffer the damage that would be normally dealt to internals, and whatever leftover damage is applied to internals. This would only apply when CASE is installed.
These would be the only few ways of making CASE useful for XL engines.... unless someone comes up with a better idea.

Mechs die fast enough even without ammo in the prominently aimed at parts. I don't need ammo explosions to kil me even faster.
Btw: Putting Ammo in the Legs comes at a risk too. Mor than once I've seen LRM Boaters die from a destroyed leg because the explosion carried through to the engine.

Balance it by making case weight in a 1 ton and 2 slots.
And Roland hits the nail on the head. I would argue for armor before internals, but either way is fine.
you would like my CASE 1/2 suggestion http://mwomercs.com/...54#entry2647954

Players should be able to put ammo where they frickin want.
CASE on the other hand needs to not be complete garbage. CASE should reduce ammo explosion damage in the same location by 50%. That might even give you a reason to use CASE with XL.

ammo in legs is not a problem, and since the overly effective critystem took place, i am more than happy that i don´t lose my torsi on every mech every 2nd hit

Hi. We're from the government and we're here to save you from yourselves because you're to stupid to know how smart we are.
We'll need to change the fuel in missiles to protect the environment. That will cut down missile range by 30% but cut down on harmful Co2 emissions by .0001% so thats a good thing.
And we need to change the color of lasers so we don't blind the children. Just think of the children wont you?
And can we get a sound cap on the game? Because the game is just to loud and it might cause people to go deaf.
And we will change the sound of AC's to chirping birds. That will be less threatening and bring more players to the game.
And the Stalker? Yeah that name is too offensive. Its too threatening. It should be changed to the "Initiator of socially inappropriate, intrusive and potentially distressing activities"
Oh and the Hunchback! That is the absolute the worse! Its epitome of political incorrectness! The game must be shutdown immediately until the name is changed to "Angular Kyphosis"

And that's my answer. Putting ammo in legs is a valid strategy, it's Canon and popular to Battletech. It's an original feeling, one of the few things that stay true to battletech. It's fun, especially when you instantly kill a cataphract by sniping a leg off.
Go play WOT if you don't like legs.
