This is the petty side of gaming. I mean the players who are max level and hunt lower levels, because it is easy. Rather than being competitive they need their daily...

EGO BOOST

I'm good at every game I play in PvP and I don't waste time on newbies. I look for the players who constantly attack the weaker player and take them out instead. That is far more fun, they are always the ones who have something to say when they are taking out 3 times in a row, they often get so upset that their plan for an easy match, constant kills, is being ruined by someone just as good or better than them.

Yee bring it on lol

I think part of it is that some games have trained players to accept that in order to "be good" they should be getting 5 kills per death. This is something that really needs to be reigned in. 1:1 is good. 1.1:1 is very good.

...and i'm killing them all.
Doesn't matter if newbie, noob, noob, nub or experienced player - everybody on my HUD that isn't a friend is a target
Take them out and go to the next one - when i'm in the right moot i feel nothing.

Don't get me wrong... I'll hit a player just as hard as anyone else, I just HOPE there's some consideration regarding who's matched with who.

will kill a so called newbie as much as id kill a so called ace =X ,,, if ur delebratly gonna hunt noobs just to put em down than ur not gonna be team player long ... unless you go pirate :).... its kinda sad that some ppl feel the need to try make them selves look tough by doing such things =3.... all it really does is make them look like an ***** =3

=3 just hope this noob thing dun go out of control =3 its all very well when its used as a joke when someone makes a compleatly stupid choice etc ,,, but it gets depressingly annoying when its done for any other reason =.=

well at least we are all on the same standing with mechs etc(basic skill level not included) and dont have to worry about being 50 levels below the ***** who comes killing you just for laughs

I'm indiscriminate most of the time, though if I see an experience player going after a newb exclusively, I will not hesitate to lodge an AC round in his ***. That's just low and exceedingly cowardly. Besides killing one experienced player is worth six kill on a player who has no idea how to play because then the battle actually feels like a worthy challenge and thus, more satisfying.

Besides teamwork will determine who the really winner is. It's always fun to see the dude who runs off to go be a hero, complaining that his team sucks because they didn't support hum (not that some newbs won't do the same.

I honestly don't know where I stand. Ultimately I've been on both sides of it - I've been incredibly irritated by playing against people whose only intention is to pubstomp but equally sometimes I just want to play a game and do well without having to think too hard.

I just cannot bring myself to take the categorizing of "n00b" players seriously.

Too often it seems that in the situation where Player A defeats Player B but is in turn defeated by Player C, that

A is playing " correctly"

B is a "n00b" or needs to "l2p"

C is using "hax" or otherwise behaving in an unwholesome manner, or player A was lagging

Where is the option for "easy wins are no fun"? This is a bad poll.

There's no fun in playing a game where you don't have to put in effort to win. I don't understand how anyone could enjoy that unless they have an extremely fragile ego.

Also, segregating fellow players as "noobs" is a pretty sad attempt to create another meaningless, unfair power structure. Can we all just enjoy a game, competitively or otherwise, without pretending our skills determine our worth as human beings?

Hmmm to be honest I dont think noob stomping will be much part of the game actually...

This isent an open world RPG or other game where people start with no gear at all or no "talent/skill points" as far as im aware off (do they even have such a system planned or in place?)

Every person's weapons do the same amounts of damage. A medium laser on a Jenner is doing the same amount of damage as one on a Atlas. I personally also plan to start with a light mech to scout with, doubt il be hunting much of anything really

Unless I can find a way to strap an PPC to a Commando or something.... Hmmm have to look into that ;)

Hm.. Noobhunting..
Free C-bills, yeah, I'll take that.

If you know someone on the other team is new and is essentially a free kill I see no reason not to dispose of him rapidly to gain an easy advantage.

If there was a way to.. populate.. the opposition with those of lesser skill / experience and rack up a consistent, high amount of c-bills and / or experience I'd do it.
Nothing personal, just business.

A warrior''s worth is in the quality of the opponents he has vanquished. I have far more respect for a mech warrior who has fought skilled opponents than anyone who has run up a high kill score against someone with little or no experience! Too often it seems that those who like tobeat up on newcomers are using this as a means of proving to themselves that they are somehow superior. In real life, we call that Bullying.

I would be surprised if a terrotory game takes a soft approach of matching equal players.

Territory control games are brutal, if your weak compared to another player then your not going to hold the territory. That encourages you to upgrade and so play + pay.

But what is an upgrade here? A medium laser is a medium laser. Unless they put in some gold ammo like item there isn't a true upgrade.

Biggest upgrade is gonna be game experience. The more you play agaisnt harder or more skilled players you will learn alot faster then if you were playing against avg players.
