Hello!

Could somebody please explain to me why did the "Critical damage" message pop up although my mech was still having armour on all components? As seen on the picture, mech health was at 96%, that's like ~15 damage done, with 232 armour overall (so 232+119=351 total HP), correct?

From my perspective it looked like I was hit by AC20 from Victor at GAMMA (cockpit shake from AC hit), but I can't be sure, because there were lots of enemies near Citadel. Picture was taken about 2 seconds after my mech was hit. I was previously hit in the cockpit, front torso and legs from ERLL, but received critical message after got hit in rear torso.

Note: this wasn't caused by overheating or overriding shutdown, I wasn't even close to thermal barrier.

You were probably hit and the armor section went a dark grey, the grey after dark orange, meaning there was absolutely no armour left and some damage went to internals. That grey often looks like the fresh starting grey. Your ragdoll should be a thinner outline though.

Guessing though cos I can't enlarge the pic as I'm on my phone.

Yeah i get Critical damage too when my rear armor goes down a certain shade of orange but is still intact.... I don't know why. It's really annoying because sometimes it's from a 2xppcgauss at 1500m and they got a lucky shot, then the whole game i have that critical damage sign in my view. i hate it.
I don't know if it's a bug or what.

All armor in his picture is intact and no internals are damaged. Just his rear CT armor is a dark orange/almost red.

Anytime an armor component drops to that orange shade, the armor is considered "critically damaged" and politely informs you via a flashing red light and glaring indicator on your HUD. It's to warn you that your armor is about to lose integrity, because then you become Machine Gun bait.

I also have the same issue cropping up.

I was under impression that "critical damage" meant damage to internals, not relative damage to armour.

I guess I am missing a piece of the puzzle about criticals.
