For DEVS
The idea is self explanatory :)
Ricochet: A shot or hit that rebounds one or more times off a surface.

I had a annerism & thought of a how big these cannons on the Battlemechs are & (LOL) How much real ballistics Ricochet.

It would be a very interesting & realistic implementation to the games diverse weapon system, Present & to come.

Governed by the physics engine/ different surfaces/ ballistics/ Range from impact.

Have fun

Battletech armor is not design to defect shots, its designed to break apart taking the energy from the weapon impact with it so I don't think Ricochet applies in this case

Quote

In the BattleTech universe, armor is ablative in nature. This means that it is generally destroyed or blown off when hit, but in the process of doing so, it absorbs enormous energies, protecting the unit it is mounted on. While powerful blows will still rock a vehicle, there will be little, if any, internal damage as long as armor plating still remains.

There warheads not slugs anyways. Right?
I was taking about the environmant not the armor Ricocheting.
Lag damage is bad enough in multyplayer games as is is ... Good point.

Yeah a friendly Gauss Rifle round would hit the enemy then bounce off and hitting you and couple more ally mechs hmm this sound like a chaotic effect to you? I'm glad armor is ablative and not deflective or you would see 100 Gauss rounds bouncing like rubber balls all over the place ,mechs, buildings, the ground.
