Also an excellent question! We'll be popping up an FAQ soon... y'all keep asking, I'm taking these questions down.

Sure, I've got a few:

Is the tournament going to be stock-only, single elimination like the nVidia event?

If we have friends/other merc group members there, will we be allowed to be on the same team?

Are PGI/IGP folks wearing similar/same shirts given away at the nVidia event? (I ask because I don't want to wear the one I was given and look like a PGI/IGP employee, presuming I get selected of course)

Will you be keeping Garth away from the game servers?

You know would be really nice? if it was in Vancouver, where PGI is based, but no, of course we can't do that, we have to have it down in the States somewhere. Way to represent your hometown PGI.

Ironically, I'd have preferred they do it in Vancouver BC. It's only about a 4 hour drive from me. I'd just have to get the enhanced ID so I don't get probed searched at the border.

San Francisco, really? That's excellent! I'm sure wherever it is here won't be far from home. I think I can make it there, and I'll try to pull my RL buddies that play and clanmates from the area in too.

Europeans put on the waiting back-burner again? Who'd have guessed..

I'm sure you're welcome if you happen to be in San Francisco at the time.

If you want to get upset, I'm guessing you're going to have to get in line with the Aussies, Russians, South Asians, Africans, South Americans and all other non-Californians. Not to mention the under-21s who won't be allowed to participate even if they show up.

They have to choose a place which will inevitably (and evidently) upset some people, and they did say they're planning events in other countries next year.

I really don't think it's an anti-European strategy (and full disclosure: I'm a European living in Europe and won't be able to attend either).

How about a live stream of the event for some of us from across the globe?

I just realized I am 15 hours ahead on the timezone, the stream will happen at odd hour like 3am on a Friday(27th Sep) morning.

Wow people are really angry about being ignored because they are from other continents.... Really MWO community? Really?

If you can so easily afford to go to the US for something as trivial as this then just move there or to Canada already...

Yeah... what, should they have it at the southern tip of Chile, so none of the EU folks get the "vapors", all offended and what-not?

A little bird told me it would possibly be live streamed. We will get that information to you as soon as possible.

Yeah, but how much for a 'mech shaped virtual presence? Turning up to launch parties as a human is just so last century!

Good Lord chiXu, everyone worldwide is waiting for this game to shape up into something that's NOT the code equivalent of a pile of vulture vomit. Who cares about launch parties for a game that's just going to sink on launch like a swiss battleship?

Swiss being land locked wouldn't build a battle ship in the first place.

Fact its in america and a weekday doesn't surprise me..its cheap..

Fact its only availble to people living on the american continent doesn't surprise me either..

nor does the favouring of certain fan groups..its the kind of nepotism to be expected

The fact PGI have commited to a finite date, which they can't pull out of, or rearrange, without looking like a bunch of losers to the entire gaming software industry has...

Hmmm... aren't "launch parties" typically held when, or like the day before, the game launches?

Why 9 days later?

There's a pretty good chance a hotfix is in the pipeline of the "launch week"... like virtually every game launch in the current era.

Great... No way I'm gonna get in that part of the world, that's a bad thing about living in the Periphery.
But we can make our own little celebration at here, usually end up with AC20 flesh wounds.

Don't be rude, man. PGI is taking time out of their busy schedule making systems to fix XML problems to celebrate with us, the playerbase! Can you blame them for wanting to let a few positive post-launch reviews accrue?

Wow - Can we try to get a reunion of the winning team (13!) from last year's Official Mech Maddness Tournament at NVIDIA's HQ as well as the other formidable teams, such as #2?

I'd enjoy getting back together with those two teams.

Very cool Devs! Sadly, I won't be going to this one... just used my PTO at work for a week off recently...

As for those thinking of attending? I was luckily chosen for the Nvidia hosted Mech Madness event last summer... very awesome event, food... beer (limited btw) and plenty of Mech loving fans showed up to show their love... if you can manage it... do it (cause they can afford more by now lol)!\

Also... they did stream the last event Mech Madness... chances are good they will stream this event too.
