after everything they showed at the event and how CW is going to look like.. I don't see what else you expected from this game.

but fair enough your a founder, you have already put your fair share into the game...

for those of us that aren't... hell yes 18th can't come soon enough

They are giving us the mechs on the 15th not the 18th...

Flimsy. But you may be right and the Flame pattern may be available for MC for the CB-purchasable Phoenix 'mech variants (meaning the Locust in October). If so, I'm fine with that as well - I get it for free.

Flimsy huh? https://twitter.com/russ_bullock

Maybe the word "exclusive" was just being used as an exclamation point instead of what it actually means?

It was sold to us as an "Exclusive" and "Ultimate Loyalty Reward".

there isn't much wiggle room in the wording.

Maybe it was just their position at the time?

Well if that is the case I believe it would be called a "Bait and Switch"

Wow. So the Flame pattern isn't exclusive afterall. It's times like this where one reflects on their previous actions. As such, related to this announcement, I have to make an apology.

I posted wrongly in the October Creative Update thread. When BitMonger505 said that the Flame pattern wasn't exclusive, I made some gross assumptions about his/her read comprehension. This is the post for my shame.

Reading Comprehension. Look at the picture closely. Now I know that you need it to be circled in red, and therefore you can only read "Exclusive", but bear with me here.

If you go on and read the whole textbox below it, which is a staggering 25 words, it specifically mentions the 'Flame' Pattern. This being under a title that says "EXCLUSIVE PHOENIX PATTERN" would lead one to believe that the 'Flame' Pattern is exclusive to the Phoenix Pack. Furthermore, you can only apply it to the standard mechs included in the pack, not the actual "Phoenix" mechs with all the bonuses.

Thank you.

I have now been found to be the one in error. Bitmonger505, I apologize. You were completely correct. The Flame pattern isn't exclusive to those who paid $20-$110. It seems my reading comprehension is lacking, and therefore, I ask for the community's forgiveness for assuming such. I shall take it upon myself to improve my understanding of the English Language.

I apologize once again.

Thank You.

Why does anyone ever put any stock in what they say after that debacle? Seriously, whatever they say is simply their position at the time and worth the pixels it's typed on. They don't lie or make mistakes they just change their minds.

Yes,Yes it is.
Which is why I think it's important that they really think through things before they put them in writing. Many of us have been telling them the need to hire a profession PR(Public Relations) person to handle and proof-read this stuff.

up until the CDU it seemed quite clear to the community that the Flame pattern would be EXCLUSIVE to the people who purchased the package, As they even refer to it themselves as OUR ULTIMATE LOYALTY REWARD. Which is not ultimate at all if everyone can have it.

I was under the impression the flame pattern was for our other phoenix mechs, to differentiate ourselves on the battle field from the none packaged mechs once they are released.

They change these things not because they don't care, they change them because they care too much!

Now I wonder when the phoenix colors will go on sale for the general public since they were supposed to be exclusive as well...

If you already missed the PC Gamer or Project Phoenix color packs, you'll have to settle for the sub-par "Davion" color set if you're a space poor, although you could always unlock the Solaris style, or buy the Star Adder Reinforcements pack if you want. Last I heard, Terra Cotta is only going to be available to devs which is too bad.

Spoiler

Actually, I still feel somewhat rewarded. Given that custom pattern unlocks for whole chassis are ridiculously overpriced at 1250 MC's, we still get 5000 MC worth out of it.

The whole point of doing stretch goal exclusives is that you provide an incentive for people to buy now as to not lose out on the opportunity. Going back after and just making your exclusives available to anyone afterward makes it really hard to get people to buy in when the Clan Mech Invasion Pack goes on sale.

This is a short term gain (whatever they make off of selling the flame pattern to the general public) in exchange for long term loss (people not trusting what you say when you offer an exclusive)

Seriously Guys? Getting refunds cuz the Pheonix Scheme will be available for the OTHER mechs for MC? Grow up. You already get it for 12 mechs for FREE. And the thing wasnt a sure bet the whole time. It was a reward for them reaching a certain number of purchases. It's a reward. Just cuz it ain't 'Exclusive' doesnt make it any less valuable. Each of the Camo schemes are what 1250 each for the complete unlocked version? That's almost $7 USD. or nearly $28 total. That tied in with my 120 days of premium time....(comes out as $60 dollars with of time btw....). The paints (1000 MC apiece translates as nearly $20...) so All told that is about $108-110... That gives me in excess of $20 of EXTRA MC purchased stuff, Since I only paid $80 for Overlord. I'm fine with this. I'm getting plenty of EXCLUSIVE stuff already from that Purchase.
It's silly to cry over it being non-exclusive.

Yes, I know & understand. But let's be honest - Unless some kind of disaster happens, it won't be hard to get people to buy Clan Mech Invasion Pack.

Because, well, Clan Mechs.

I agree, It makes it perfectly clear that the "flame" pattern would have been introduced this month whether these fake goals were met or not.

the whole stretch goal thing was not real.
