Hotrod is not free in my account, do I need to do something to get it?

I purchased Overlord Package quite a while ago.

Check again. Hotrod color/camo should be free ONLY on the regular non-phoenix variants of the mechs in the package.

ONLY the regular ones.

RapierE01 linked to where it should be, but be warned (Is it just me?) you cannot access them by clicking the profile link at the top of the webpage.

They have since added a medallions link under the profile section of the site. You now don't need to use a direct link.

Yeah notice how people focus on the little things that get them riled up and ignore the surprise bonuses?

Actually, I haven't bought a custom skin yet... Do they all come with their colors included to be used on all mechs? I was under the impression that you had to buy those separately, and the patterns have a "default" color scheme using those colors, but you couldn't use those colors on other chassis (without the skin) unless you buy them separately... because why would anyone buy those colors separately then? And then why would you buy that skin for more than one chassis unless the price drops after you buy it once (because then you already have the colors, which is like half the package).

Oh [redacted] six colors? Well this changes everything! The awful in-game mech scaling, pricing model, chassis redundancy, and waffling over exclusivity now mean nothing because the colors, Duke-- the colors!

I like the colors. That they weren't strapped to the skin they came with is a nice bonus to me. And if I had an issue with the price modeling, I wouldn't have bought it. I also had enough reading comprehension to be able to tell what they were actually describing instead getting caught up on semantics. Whatever your issues are, they are not my issues.

Please explain for the class what INI variables to set to make it so the 55 ton mechs are not as big as the 75 ton mechs, since these problems aren't your problems. I am surprised you are suddenly okay with their pricing scheme considering the post you made one hour ago in this very thread was:

Of course maybe it was an ironic sort of "why would you buy that" where you really meant "wow that sounds outstanding, I should support these unlock schemes and so should you." Perhaps my reading comprehension is failing me, but it seems like you neither fully understand nor support their pricing schemes.

You seem a little irritable this morning. Have you had breakfast yet? You should probably eat something.

PGI has already said that they think some of the older mechs need to get another pass on scaling. I don't really have an issue with that if they're looking over them already.

The paint pricing scheme is not an issue I have, I was asking how it works because I haven't bought any and am not sure how they work. The only special patterns I have are the PCGamer pattern and now the HotRod pattern. I can see in the MechLab that the patterns have default colors associated with them but I don't know if they come with the colors to use for all other mechs that aren't using the skin. I can also see that the colors can be bought separately. Since paint patterns are only per chassis (unlike colors) that is where the question comes up. The reason I haven't bought the patterns isn't because I have an 'issue' with their pricing scheme, I just haven't liked the patterns enough to buy one for a chassis yet, especially when I'm still leveling 'mechs and haven't settled on a particular chassis I'll be using forever.

Some people just need to be angry. What they are angry about is irrelevant. If it disappears, their anger will just transfer to the next thing they see.

It's generally considered to be in poor taste to leech images and post page-high unrelated content while sidestepping the actual discussion entirely. Of course, if you see no fault with the current mech scaling, you are quite tasteless indeed.

If you truly do not like any of the camo patterns, there is little to be said about your appreciation of aesthetics in general. Of course if some actually do indeed appeal to you but their price is too steep to justify purchase, we're right back to that again, aren't we? Surely if they were more accessible you (and others) would try them out more. The fact you haven't bought a specific skin option clearly is either a sign of poor design (less likely) or a sign of poor pricing (more likely) if we rule out a failure to appreciate MWO's aesthetics (sort of a toss-up).

You left out "can afford it, and even though it is the online equivalent of Picaso, just isn't your speed."

Art is subjective. What someone will pay $1000 for, others wouldn't look at twice.
