I was really looking forward to buying a Project Pheonix package to add to my Founders package, but then I thought to myself, why am I spending money on Mechs when the actual game to use them in is such a shambles. Perhaps when MW:O looks something like what was promised when I first handed over my money, then I'll think about giving PGI some more.

EDIT: Also, if anyone hadn't already noticed: ALL of the 'Mechs in MWO are new and original art, even the "non-Unseen" are using different art than the sourcebooks.

True. I find this very noticeable with the Centurion, which looks a lot bulkier and more compact in MWONL. I just re-installed MechCommander 1 (it actually runs under Win8 64 without any tweaks) and the Centurion in there looks nothing like ours - it's a lot closer to the original drawings found in the books and on sarna.

From the (truly excellent) MechCommander 1 manual:

Overall, I like "our" Centurions a lot better than this "walking-stick" one... :)

Their web/forum guys are not responsible for or capable of removing ghost heat, unless the team and resources are being terribly mismanaged. They also are probably not responsible for balancing, or netcode, or renderer enhancements, or 3D modeling.

Maybe they are however working on the random slow-downs the forums work on. And by "working on" I hope that means they get them removed, not adding more or something.

I wonder how they track refunds with the counter? And it seems to me it has seen at least two updates since the first time I looked at them.

I still firmly believe the counter isn't actually linked to sales.

That aside, I absolutely garauntee that the amount of refunds is miniscule. I figure, outside of forum goers, the refund amount is near zero, and even of forum folk its still a small number. A couple dozen pissy forumers won't really impact the bottom line at all.

The entire thing is more likely linked to an ETA of when the sale ends, and nothing more.

Druidika it's keeping a very detailed data on the progression bar, and yes the bar raised twice from 145% (starting point) to 150% then to 160%. Also PGI stated the bar upgrades in 10% blocks.

If we consider the progression set on a timer (instead sales) it seems to raise around 5% per week

There is a line between too much grind and not enough grind. PGI doesn't know that line, which is not surprising. Even with the previous earnings it would take you many months (I think someone calculated it was at least 6) to buy all the mechs, by which time there would be another 6 chassis.

And we can compare this Grind to the League of Legends one, because in both games it's absolutely mandatory to own all Mechs/Champions and all weapons/runes and all modules/Pagerunes, without investing a single dollar in the game right?

@NamesAreStupid

Sorry i may missunderstand the post i quoted from you, but it gave the slighty impression that you was complainning about being forced and need too much grind to be able to own every mech in game.

So i asked if you believe it's absolutely mandatory to own all Mechs, weapons and Modules in game??
The reason i compared it to lol it's because they release champions in a month basis like we have our Mech release, so if you are familiar with such game do you think it's mandatory own everything?

Apologies if i mistake the tone of your post.

From what I heard, there were hardware problems with the server that were causing the issues as the server slowly killed itself on and off. Things seem to have gotten speedier here, at least.

Still often non-responsive or slow as hell here :(
But I do live in Sweden and guess that does add to the problems.

Sometimes it's smooth, sometimes it takes quite a while... no clue why.

My guess is that they have been cheap on the servers, and I can't blame them, servers are kind of expensive and they are a small company without a big publisher at their back.

As far i heard the Publisher it's the one who also own the servers (IGP) wich may be a quite odd thing.

Sadly Dota 2 just crushes the LOL grind to space dust. It has none. :)

Ah yes another conspiracy, how convenient.

I don't know, maybe they're none of your business? Seriously the entitlement that people have nowadays is amazing. Maybe when you're running a company you can be so free with all the information that people demand from you... :P

Isn't it literally his business if he buys MC or bought Phoenix?

Not for me, forum servers are extremely spotty. I'm close enough to Chicago that my in-game pings usually run between 25 and 35.

am I the only one here that's a tad unimpressed with these "unlocks" ? in other games ive played and pre-purchased, ive felt quite special with regards to the unlocks. paints? fair enough for a tier 1 even tho I already have pc gamer colours =|, teir 2 medalions? realy? my coconut monkey laughs. what a joke. last tier, a flame pattern...is this how creative u guys get? I havnt had any reason to complain as I love the game and appreciate the work put into its making. but if you wanna boost sales...geez, some imagination and "wow" wouldn't go astray. but beggers cant be choosers, *places medallion in a box an stores in shoe draw*

Don't worry it's not to boost sales, we will get all the unlocks. Since there is no amount that bar moves whenever PGI wants.
