I'm talking about DirectX 11. I know it will give the Devs a whole slew of new options and ways to change the game, but why upgrade when a good chunk of the players of this game would have to spend 300-400$ to get a new card to at least run the game smoothly. I have an Nvidia GTX gforce 285. This card runs the game beautifully, and does almost everything that the more expensive nvidia cards can do, besides directx 11 and a little bit more memory. I just really don't want to end up needing to shell out a couple hundred on a new card for a game that already runs perfectly fine.

I think directx 11 is an option you can chose like in many other games. So nothing will change for you.

You don't have to sped $300-$400 for a DirectX 11 card. I found an ATI Radeon HD 7750 for $89.00 at Newegg.

Depends on where you live. Here in Europe, where I live, it would be at least 2x times more expensive. Also I have Gtx 560 and the game still runs like ****. No difference low or high settings.

I have gtx 460 and I wish they would introduce dx11 some time soon, it wil bring more optimization (hopefuly)
Right now, after latest patch and hotfix, I have the same situation, where there is only 15 fps difference between low and high

I used to run a 460 and it ran just fine, now I'm running a 660 and it's still smooth.

Maybe it's the processor (AMD A6-3650)?

To answer your question they have downgraded the graphics for performance reasons. Dam shame too. It went from closed Beta graphics which were beautiful to cartoon graphics now. There was a post saying DX11 would support better graphics down the line. We will see....

I'm hoping they put this in sooner rather than later. I saw some of the footage from CB when they were still running it and was gobsmacked. I have a brand-spanking (<2months) 670 that is champing at the bit to get it's hands on those graphics.
