@GingerBang

Notice the Battle Time of 4:41 in the screenshot Villz posted. The engagement occurred in G7-G6, so subtract a two-and-a-half minute travel time from upper spawn. That means that we destroyed the entirety of the enemy team in 1-2 minutes. Forget the two disconnects and six other mechs on our side, they weren't "involved." Alpha Lance was the spearhead of the battle, totaling a combined 3070 damage. In the end, all four of us were in good shape, and could've gone through another 12 mechs.

I don't believe brawling is dead, but I would like to take a second to state my disgust at your 4-man assault-drops. You should know full-well what fits that provides matchmaker (fills in the enemy team with assaults from the underhive), yet still do it to pad your hungry egos. ...shameful. Please let us know when you are prepared to take your training wheels off and until then understand YOU are part of the problem...

@BillyM

Anyone the match-maker places on the other team will be lower ELO, that's a given. You're ignoring the fact that we basically went 4v12 and wiped the opposing team in Brawling mechs, on Alpine Peaks, without any of us being opened to core.

Oh, and training wheels - you mean not playing in a pre-made group? I've won the last FOUR tournaments by solo-dropping, all the while maintaining my pre-made performance.

Yeah my pic from above was from me solo pugging too.

Situational awareness and pug mates understanding it's not smart to stand still and slug it out, but instead keep together in open battle groups while moving cover to cover, and almost most importantly, FOCUSING FIRE, helps.

Two of my 8 kills that match were from opponents who thought that they should stand still and try to snipe me, while I moved back and forth, targeting their side torsos as best I could, popping in and out of cover. The last 6 were just me getting the lucky HSR decision between 3 and 5 'mechs all brawling at close range and focusing on the same target.

Teamwork, definitely OP.

Looking for the solid red triangles, OP.

Pressing R to target and looking for and targeting the RED spots, OP.

Not firing like a madman, and NOT overheating, OP.

Not standing still like moron and being as difficult a target as possible, OP.

Not attempting to take my heavy 'mech and brawl, solo and head on, an assault 'mech, OP.

Brawling is EXTINCT?!?!?!?!?!

Why doesn't anyone ever tell me this before I go out and wreck the enemy team in a brawler?

Next thing up, people will tell me Medium Mechs are useless.......

waste of time, ignore me

That's because you don't participate in my Banzai charges but instead would rather stay behind cover twiddling your thumbs. Grow a spine and actually charge the enemy. (oooohhhhh! :lol:)

Had a stalemate last night at Frozen City with both teams on either side of the ridge as usual (and with 1 dead on each side). I finally said "F it!", got into position, told my team "Prepare to push", yelled "BANZAI!!!", and charged into the enemy rear from the middle cave exit. Three minutes later the score was 12vs1. I had 3 kills too and stayed alive. ;)

I had another one at River City today, with some of the the enemy camping their base in upper, lobbing LRMs. "Banzai!!!" and three minutes later the enemy were all dead with me having three kills. Unfortunately, this time around, someone named Ivan in an Atlas killed me as I popped out of the tunnel. (Darned you Ivan!!!)

And all I was using in both cases was a JM6-DD armed with 2 ERLLs and 6 MGs(!!!).

Do you even brawl bro?

Still works. SRM's are hurting a little via current HSR but big AC's and packs of short range lasers get work done.

Helps if you wait for the main firefight to establish before you take your lance around to flank and get rowdy.

Cheers,
Sahoj

Brawlers can use speed, cover, then match damage with slower, heavier, long range, on most maps. Then use your speed to circle-strafe targets.
