It's been a while since I last played MWO, basically mid Beta, but I was wondering if it was still possible to run a Catapult-K2 with 4xMPLs, 2 Machine guns, and the fastest engine you can fit on it? The main point being whether or not it's viable at all. I haven't really been keeping up with the changes so I'm just curious if I can still run around like a derp and shooting things.

Also, if possible could someone tell me what the general K2 builds tend to be now anyways?

Yes. I wouldn't go with that, personally, but you absolutely could.

For K2 builds, the current game sees a lot of Gauss+2ERPPC's. Of course, you can still run 2 Gauss or 2 AC20(don't fire both AC20's together due to ghost heat) but honestly the Jager is just better for both of those. I'm fond of 2 UAC5's, 2LL's, 2ML's as well.

My favourite K2 build is actually pretty much the stock but upgraded, with 2PPC, 2LL, 2MG, 300XL - CPLT-K2

With the Ghost Heat system in place now, you'll find there's a lot more "mixed" builds in use than you used to see (generally, you're not going to see 4LL and 4PPC K2's around anymore).

With today's LBX change this mech seems to be a lot of fun. (or click here for the std engine variant)

It has
2 LBX10
4 med lasers
fat 305 engine (or std255)

It is a variant on the dual AC10 + 4 medl K2

Dual AC20's or gauss rifles still work though

I wouldn't do a close up build with a Cat. Just no.

I like my K2 with 2 PPC, 1 AC5, 2 MLs, and an XL300. It's effective, deadly, and pretty good on heat if you try to hang right behind the heavy hitters or can harass from a distance.
