So, going over the internet I see a LOT of trolling posts across various review sites.

In general they all read the same

"cbill nurf, broken promises, my ****** hurts, etc etc"

Now, obviously a subsection of trolls exist that have a huge vested interest in bringing this game down. Sadly, their whinings create bad PR. this leaves me wondering - why are they still playing this game/or not, and more importantly why are they so happy to spread misinformation, anger and negativity on this game around the review sites?

if they plan on staying, they are only hurting themselves. if they think their crappy comments are going to make PGI do something, well, probably not. So why so many trolly worthless comments?

I guess in the end, it doesnt matter.

what does matter is that you go out there and spread some truth - the truth about how day in and day out we still log in to enjoy this fantastic mech simulation that finally after 10 years gave us mechwarrior back.

Positive comments are great. negative comments achieve nothing except to satisfy the small egos of small men who seem intent on destroying this games reputation because they didn't get their way at one time or another.

so go out and spread some goodness for the game you love.

and for gods sake, if your epeen is still hurting, then leave this game or ****. trolling on these websites & comments does nothing but satisfy your own tiny little ego as you bring down a game you obviously in the end have 0 interest in participating in. Killing MWO won't do jack for you or anyone else, and your negative comments are nothing but terrible PR that will end up doing nothing but giving you the ego stroke that "hey, i was one of the loser trolls who ruined MWO by trolling review sites and forums because i'm a sad pathetic loser."

Welp, pack it up. Nobody is allowed to offer criticism of a product. Only sunshine, rainbows and lollipops. This is a emergency action directive from Colonel Panda Venison.

Roger, danger close, quiaff?

Please explain what "vested interest" trolls have, I am curious.

Well you're using the term "vested interest" wrong and thus commiting the eternal sin of "being wrong on the internet". We can't let that stand. Please answer the direct question.

I know that we're all imperfect people, but one should be wary of calling out trolling in one sub forum while trolling in another.

Just trying to help.

a little over the top, but i understand what you are getting at. watching people post constantly about how utterly horrible everything is and repeatedly posting about how they are going to quit playing for evar! and then posting the same garbage the next day and every day after that. exactly how many times can you quit something?

watching half the community talk about how the developers should take more time and make fewer changes with each patch and then the other half complain because patches don't change enough and then both sides become indignant when they don't get what they want because "everyone agrees".
  • "everyone agrees that we need to completely follow table top rules"
  • "everyone agrees that we need to avoid tabletop rules at all costs"
  • "everyone agrees that sniping is fine"
  • "everyone agrees that sniping is ruining the game"
  • "everyone agrees that this is too much of a twitch fest"
  • "everyone agrees that the game isn't fast paced enough"
"everyone" is a confused screwed up mess and i wouldn't blame the developers if they just told "everyone" to screw off while they go make a game.

the more i see on the forums the more i am convinced that the game would probably be better off if the forums were just shut down and they just ignored most of the A-holes that don't have anything better to do than keyboard spam about a game they "hate" so thoroughly.

/end rant
