Eckman and Bullock have crossed the line, again, openly ignoring their community, abandoning their own promises, and delivering nothing that was promised. They have failed as game developers and ought to resign their positions so more qualified candidates can take over and salvage this trainwreck before it takes any more people with it.

You want to draw in new players? Create a tutorial and movement system. Still hellbent on implementing 3pv? Make it a module or force a choice between 1pv or 3pv without toggle. Have a major problem which needs to be addressed? LISTEN TO FEEDBACK! We have ideas. Even if our ideas aren't implemented, maybe it can provide some oil for the creative juices that will lead to some new, fun mechanic.
Maybe I'm not wrong after all. This game still has potential. I still love it, even if I might take a break for now to see if things get sorted out. But this is the fatal blow for me. Provide your consumer base with what they want, and follow up on promises you make. If something changes down the line, be open and frank about it. If a new feature doesn't test well, post and say that it didn't test well so you remove it. But don't take promises and make them stillborn whe n your consumers want the feature.
Tl; dr implement the 1pv only queue, stop lying to us, I'm out. Peace.

3PV sucks, I hate being in that mode. I can't see my leg orientation anyways and while an attempt at balance it makes no sense why my pilot wouldn't be able to see his ******** map information while hooked up to the camera drone.

I was going to come post some things, but you said what I was going to say exactly, and probably better than I was going to say it. This is all I wanted to add; mostly what I feel is disappointed, not angry. There are lots of fun games out there I will be able to spend my time on, but I wish I felt like MWO was the game I wanted to spend my time on, instead of the other games I could play. There have just been too many bad decisions, and this ranks pretty high among them.
It makes me sad that PGI have previously stated that they don't really care what the forums think, and that they are willing to trade the people who want to love this game for people who will pick up the game for a while, get bored in a month, and leave. We'd love to keep paying you for years and years to make this game, but you've decided that you would rather have people who are going to flit from one game to the next, and in catering to them, you've manage to lose both your short-term and long-term prospects.

It's pretty much impossible to fight effectively in (at least in my experience so far, mostly in assaults - friends tell me it might be more useful for lights). When I tried hill-peeking it backfired - because while I could certainly see over hills, I had no way to know when my mech was showing to the enemy, so I advanced too far and took a lot of fire. It probably didn't help that the flashing light on the drone would have been telling the enemy team where to expect me!
What it does provide is a fun way to have a look at your mech - or at least a part of it, for large mechs. To actually see the paint job that you spent those MCs on is good, while you're stomping long distances into combat.
Maybe people will learn to fight effectively in 3PV... maybe not... I'm far from convinced that it was worth the development effort, but I don't think it's going to be game-breaking.

You lied when you said it would only be for training tutorials. You can see past buildings with 3PV, but you sure as hell can't see your legs with it.
You lied about separate queues.
I'm very, very disappointed. I really had hopes for this game, and I was willing to let some setbacks and some poor communication slide. But this is just flatly dishonest behavior.
Pushing 3PV into the live servers without a separate queue, and without addressing any of the valid concerns raised from the test server is, well, I'd usually make a more polite comment about frogs in slowly heating water, but I think it's more accurate to call a spade a spade and acknowledge it's the old "just the tip" play. Promise it really won't be the full blown deal, only a little experiment, then once we begin to relax a little when it isn't quite as painful as our worst fears, you ram it home with the confidence that we won't run away screaming as if it were a violation out of the clear blue.
I'm not interested in playing along with kind of duplicity, and I'm not interested in being screwed that way. This isn't the first total **** change to get rammed through, and I expect a few new implementations to have problems, but this tin-eared approach of treating a broken feature like it was mana from heaven and writing off abundant player concerns as the rantings of a "vocal minority" is what sinks game companies, and oh how I have seen it before. Harvesting data heuristics only gets you a partial story, and I've watched game companies run themselves out of business before trying to read the minds of alt-farmers and abandoned accounts while ignoring their core audience.
I'm not interested in playing with 3PV.
I'm not interested in giving it second chances over and over until it's too deeply ingrained in the game to be pulled back out (sort of like shitbox ECM is). I played the test server, I saw plenty enough to draw a conclusion - and if PGI/IGP couldn't well, like Joe said your internal testers couldn't tell if it was raining by stepping outside. 3PV gets no support from me, I'm not interested in using it, playing in matches with it, or playing with or against people using it. Period. Get the ******* message and pull this {Scrap} out before it tanks the game, and pull out Ghost Heat while your at it, because they're both actually worse than going against teams of hill-humping 4PPC Stalkers.
