Get your 3pv out of my games. I play with good players, use it in the training grounds or maybe as said a module that can be shot down, but get out of my damn games.

The sad part is that they could have avoided that backlash completely - by keeping both queues.

I believe that this is no "single bug" as stated earlier by Paul (if I am not mistaken). If it is a bug though - get new testers, it took 5 minutes to find those places - including loading screens.

But tell me this: How many game companies have been successfully sued for deviating from, or doing the exact opposite of, the original design promises they have communicated to their game's players? Please list as many as you can.

Please give us the option to play in matches where 3rd person view is not allowed. There are enough people who think it is a terrible idea to support that. You can still have it as an option to those who want to play an arcade game but those of us looking for a simulation were promised at least a mode where we can play the game as a simulation without being at a disadvantage.

You lied to us again.

I would have been willing to spend hundreds of dollars without blinking if you guys managed to get all the problems solved and features implemented. We didn't want 3pv. We want hit detection, DX11, better performance, tonnage limits, UI 2.0, collisions, proper movement, lobbies, the ability to play with and against our friends, duels, weapon balance, community warfare, medium mechs that aren't the size of assaults, more dynamic environments (destruction?) and list goes on.

Maybe I'll be back and possibly even open my wallet if things change.

It is not an accusation when it is already proven to be true and most of that comment was true. No double standards here, if someone goes around cussing at the devs or something similar then sure, ban him.

Until that time the topic is named "feedback" so everyone can give their opinion as long as they do it without violating the TOS. Including you, me and him.

But don't you understand? Their internal testers and devs - the ones who think Airstrikes are worthwhile and can't kill a single 'mech in a public 12v12 que - couldn't find any advantage with 3PV.

Thus, there is none, right??

PGI,

Please either remove 3PV, make it a module, or keep your promises about the playlists.

You can't just LEAVE it like this...that's really messed up. You're actually torpedoing your own reputation as a game dev. That won't fly well in the age of Reddit :( .

3PV is am exploit you can see such a wider range than in the cockpit as well as over hills. There really is no point not to use 1pv now. this is supposed to be a simulator with this you can basically throw that out the window. What is this garbage your pushing PGI.

So if I post ~100 more of those...will they actually start looking for bugs?^^ Since I only used the most obvious ones and didn't really waste any time "searching" - just jumped into the most obvious scouting spots I noticed "on the fly".

Or, in other words: It works on every spot I tried.

Disclaimer: I get that PGI has several times now outright gone back on their word. No coolant ever! Coolant. No 3rd person ever! 3rd person. But you don't have to play against 3rd person if you don't want to! Except that you do. I get all that. Lets put that aside for the moment.


If I may, a legitimate suggestion here. What if your cockpit to camera distance was scaled by your cockpit to obstruction distance? So all those picks shown above, where the mech is face up against obstructions? What if getting close to an obstruction pushed your camera right into your mech from behind, so that you ended up with the same (or at least closer) field of view as a result?

I get that this isn't a perfect solution, and that those who are dead set against playing in mixed matches won't accept any change. I get that. If you're one of those people, move along. Not that you don't have a perfectly valid greivance, but I'm looking at ways to make mixed mode play work better; whether or not they decide to allow separate queues.

It seems pretty damned reasonable for me to have your 3pv camera view restricted when your mech is face-first into a cliff/wall/whatever.

Speaking for myself, it is not the feature I don't like - it is the impossibility of choosing whether or not to use it, after being told repeatedly, that this would never happen.

@Wintersdark: That doesn't solve anything. If needed I will provide you with screens where you just increase the distance by 1-2 meters and achieve the same result.
