Don't track player stats like W/L in the game

Now that an app is commonly available to display others, its affecting gameplay as some people modify the way they play the game based on their team's stats or the others. Things like Tier 10 tanks hiding in back from the beginning because they think the game is already lost and they don't want a repair bill.
So please do not track these statistics in the game. Even if they are not displayed, but still tracked, people will find them and create mods to create the exact sort of metagamey nightmare WoT is currently experiencing. Its essential that this information is not collected.

World of tanks mod XVM is far worst then Gearscore in WOW.XVM now give the odds of your team winning at the start of the game along with Win ratio/Efficient avg for all your vechiles you have used.
At least gear score gave a guideline on were you should be at for raiding of course ppl then went to the higher limits then needed because they want to blast though content with little effort.

Nice in theory, but that's not how its worked out in practice. XVM and stat obsession has been bad for the game in WoT (and this coming from somebody who is actually pretty decent at the game).
The MWO devs would be making an error in judgment if they fail to learn from the mistakes of a predecessor.
There's no big mystery here. . . things won't magically just be different for MWO in this regard than they were for WoT. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting a different result.

It doesn't work that way. Sure stats were an attempt to try and help people learn from their mistakes and find where they needed to improve, but it's distilled down to nothing but impossibly daft "We're gonna lose" mantras when looking at them. They aren't about getting better. Seeing your KDA at 1/3/15 doesn't tell you much. Seeing where you hit with a Medium Laser on a target and how much damage it does on average will.

I've played a little WoT myself, and I don't feel that XVM is really that damaging. I prefer having the stats available to me, and I know may of my clan mates do as well.

I disagree, seeing your KDA is 1/3/15 shows that you are most likely spreading your fire around instead of focusing on targets. Also, a player with those stats should focus more on weaker targets that their allies are shooting at vs whatever targeting scheme they are picking. This will help get opposing firepower off the field as soon as possible.

Oh sure. It's also a good mechanism for "I'm sorry, you can't drop with us because your stats just aren't up to par".

WoT is basically identical and these types of mods are freely available as they pull publically-available information and display it in games. I don't like the mod structure of WoT at all -- especially when you could download mod skins for enemy vehicles that basically highlight the weakpoint in tanks in bright neon pink. I think they may have done something to prevent this, but that pretty much killed the game for me regardless. That and artillery.
