Why is it grey'd out?

Quote

Here are the facts.
  • Players will never be forced to use or play against other players using 3rd person.

Because currently, I am being forced to play against people with 3rd person view....

Because Ekman is a liar. Apparently they've "rethought" out everything they said from march and back. They don't understand that seeing through walls is an advantage over not being able to see through walls. This much is stated in his post.

I think it's pretty much obvious we can't believe a thing PGI say anymore, they've gone back on pretty much everything they've told us recently.

Being able to see enemies over hills and around corners without exposing yourself to a quick PPC alpha blast is not exactly what I'd call a disadvantage.

If anything, it just makes the game easier for everyone. Well, at least everyone that knows how to play.

Seeing over and around buildings/hills isn't an advantage?

It is to those of us who enjoy immersion and don't want to use 3PV. IT puts us at a heavy disadvantage. And you know the competitive teams will use the **** out of this easily abused mechanic.

None of your answers have substance. The question is, why is it GRAYED out? IF PGI decided not to have Hardcore mode, then wtf is it there to begin with? It's grayed out for a reason, and I am asking why...This post is not a discussion on the details of 3rd person, there are plenty of others for that. This post should be limited to discussion of why the option is grayed out. PLEASE take your arguments elsewhere.

Many things I can take with a grain of salt. But PGI You have said multiple times about multiple items that they will not happen, and here you are again Lying to your customers. It is a very bad business model gentlemen. Very bad indeed.

It is grayed out because they decided to not separate players out into separate queues at this time. See the command chair for Bryans response to your question.

Take a look at the Command Chair thread, not the best answer in the world, but at least something.

All you guys pointing to the command chair are still believing the lies.

From the very start 3PV was designed with an indicator over a mech to indicate 3PV. I've posted before about this but why implement something like this if the intention was a separate queue for 3PV'ers? You'd know everyone in that game will be using 3PV.
The ONLY reason to put up an indicator was to show other people you're in 3PV - a move only necessary if 3PV was forced on all.

This was a design decision right from the start. More lies from Brian.

Just think of it a the visual equivalent of the seismic sensor that is installed on every mech with no module slot. :P

Or if those with this attitude would take a moment to see as a real world situation, the decision could have been overridden from someone higher up could have told him to change his mind. Obviously he's not going to say that, because you don't **** in the face of the face of the people who are publishing the game.

People change their minds.. In my opinion changing your mind is not telling a "lie".

If PGI knew there would never be a hardcore mode but told everyone there would be with the purpose of deceiving them then it would be a lie.

When someone can prove with conclusive evidence that PGI knew there was never going to be a hardcore mode and purposefully tried to deceive everyone, then I will believe they "lied" instead of just "changed their minds".
