This is c/p of my response to the feedback thread, but thought I would put it where it wouldn't get swallowed by all the loud noises. [Edited for extra info]

You guys do realize that the extra "view" you get from third person doesn't benefit you right? I mean, the only thing missing is you don't visually see the enemy, but he'll be on your mini map.

]Wait, you mean your not watching the mini map?

Then the tactical edge your losing won't matter much at that level.

Anyways - I've never had a problem with the 3pv whine crowd... (Seriously when the hell did all the wow players decide to play mechwarrior?), however that being said..

Why the **** do I default in 3pv? Stop that ****. Stop that **** now.

PS - If you want to stop the cryers, because if someone using 3pv gains an advantage over someone not using it, there's not enough skill in the match for it to matter, remove the hud. Not the targeting reticle, let them still aim, but remove the information recieved from the hud.

Problem solved.

Your welcome.

Now, the point about the benefit is legit. If you're so hampered by the little bit of map not visible around the edges, you're not in a skill range where it's going to make that much of a difference. I'm sorry, but that's the truth. Rule number one has always been know where people are. You do that by watching your mini map.

As for the possible solution, I'm sure I am far from the first to mention it, but I really do think it's a simple to implement solution that provides a very good counter balance for the addition of 3pv, even if there is no advantage to it. The reason isn't that it needs to be balanced, but that you should not encourage people to learn bad habits, such as playing in 3pv.

I think 3pv is a great thing to have, as it allows you to enjoy your mech in it's natural habitat. In fact, I'm glad it was added, because of the possibilities it allows for movies and such. That being said, where I think those steadfast against it, is that it was added, quickly mind you, in stead of other things that should be a much, MUCH higher priority.

It sure would suck if I couldn't just switch out every few seconds to check my minimap.

Erbun, sorry man, you seem nice, but you just got 1 shotted in this thread. The screenies erase ANY built in negative that 3PV offers. Arm lock? Loss of mini-map for a few seconds?

Nothing compared to those screenshots.

The simple fact is it toggles to fast. You toggle it on, look over terrain, toggle it back off to fight. Even better fight with it off until you start getting streak and LRM spammed, then simply turn it on to ignore the shake issues normally attached to them. Rain ends, toggle it back off to continue fighting.

If it had to stay on the whole match it wouldn't be to bad.

That is in addition to the multiple lies from a company I've put hundreds of dollars into, all of which deal with this exact feature. They have lied to us from day one about 3PV. It makes it hard to trust a company, and I find it hard to give money to a company I don't trust.

They have one week to fix it, and fess up to their duplicity, or I ask for the money back on my Phoenix project and am out.

I don't care about the 3PV in terms of OP or anything - if 3PV ppl play with 3PV people it doesn't matter.
The issue is that PGI LIED to their community by forcing 3PV upon every player, disabling the 1PV queue, even though they stated that players yould never be forced to play this mode.

Yes, that thing you generally see nothing on until you've got alpha'd in the face because you're looking at the wrong thing

This is where my gripe comes from. They stated in an official post that they wouldn't do the thing they just did. Then those of us who have put a good chunk of money into the game feel like we bought into false promises. Or that the company wasn't honest while they were taking our money. Either way I'm really pretty mad that they can't even do what they say they will in their own forums, from their own people. I'm left with no confidence in PGI.

I'm not going to bolt for the doors because I've sunk so much into this game and it's pretty much all I play now. I just wish I could trust a single word PGI says. I wonder how much cash is on both sides of this fence.

My $340 wants a game with separated queues as promised.
