]Wait, you mean your not watching the mini map?
Then the tactical edge your losing won't matter much at that level.
Anyways - I've never had a problem with the 3pv whine crowd... (Seriously when the hell did all the wow players decide to play mechwarrior?), however that being said..
Why the **** do I default in 3pv? Stop that ****. Stop that **** now.
PS - If you want to stop the cryers, because if someone using 3pv gains an advantage over someone not using it, there's not enough skill in the match for it to matter, remove the hud. Not the targeting reticle, let them still aim, but remove the information recieved from the hud.
Problem solved.
Your welcome.
Now, the point about the benefit is legit. If you're so hampered by the little bit of map not visible around the edges, you're not in a skill range where it's going to make that much of a difference. I'm sorry, but that's the truth. Rule number one has always been know where people are. You do that by watching your mini map.
As for the possible solution, I'm sure I am far from the first to mention it, but I really do think it's a simple to implement solution that provides a very good counter balance for the addition of 3pv, even if there is no advantage to it. The reason isn't that it needs to be balanced, but that you should not encourage people to learn bad habits, such as playing in 3pv.
I think 3pv is a great thing to have, as it allows you to enjoy your mech in it's natural habitat. In fact, I'm glad it was added, because of the possibilities it allows for movies and such. That being said, where I think those steadfast against it, is that it was added, quickly mind you, in stead of other things that should be a much, MUCH higher priority.
