So what's our play for this big scrap?

Well between the three of us we have a short, med, and long ranged thing going... I'd say have Jack post up on some slight rise and start hosing everything down with 'dakkita dakkita' while D and Bertie pick off people trying to flank ya. I'm claiming the Orion as mine, I got plans for it.

Also most of the mechs I rolled up were from the FRR table... My dice were set on rolling falling on their collum.

If you were still planning on Jack going down hard fast we could work that in. Methinks I'll have D fall somewhere in the middle of the bout after getting penned in by a coulpe of mechs teaming up. I was thinking of Bertie actually winning the whole thing, but that's if it's alright with the two of you. I think that it'd be good for character development for all of us.

Jack gets a lesson on teamwork and learns that despite his expert skill with Taysayer, he could use some help with the other mechs.

For D it's a defeat, or well not a win. He's just there to hurt the opponents.

For Bertie it puts him in the spotlight for a change and well let's face it. 3025 tech Warhammers are pretty win.

Oh this isn't the one that teaches him that - this is the one where Jack feels inadequate, not up to his family legacy, yadda yadda...and goes straight back over on a bender. I'm thinking mebbe D comes and gets drunk with him and calls him a moron, just gotta work as a team, that Jaeger build isn't exactly built for going toe to toe with mechs, etc.
What I'd like is because of how weak the Jaeger is (even with the extra 4t of armour, it's not the world's most durable - especially from the rear) that Jack gets pulled down very quickly. Whether or not that happens immediately or later on in the match is up for debate, I just want him to go down fast once he's being shot at. His shaky fingers give me an excuse for a whole lot of misses as well, which will add to the feeling of incompetence.

For the match though - is it still officially FFA? Are there teams? Etc

I've got two things I'm looking to leverage into Bertie's next fight:

1) A comparison back to his old Enforcer. 20 tons more 'Mech, but the armour's practically the same. Where did the tons go? Oh, right: weapons.

2) Convince Bertie that may he doesn't need all those weapons and that ammo explosions are a b****.

Other than that, I'm good for whatever :D. Regarding FFA, I figured it'd be something like how I did Bertie's last match - a free-for-all, but with a gentleman's agreement not to shoot each other until everyone else is down.

You want to have a gentleman's agreement with Jack?

Well a multi-team thing would be pretty fun... It'd warrant those missile boats being in the match to begin with... Soften up the enemy or put them down when they're hurt. I wish I kept note of which state I got the results from.

Working on getting D to Cherry Babies, Rogue. That last post of mine took forever to type out. Watching bowl games, being interrupted by the fam and had to go out to the store for some things for dinner. Plus I was working on that new laptop I got for X-mas and well it's... different.

Will try to get some more stuff typed out this weekend to get Jack involved.

Sounds awesome Thom! Sorry I didn't get anything out over Christmas, between travel and drama all my will to write died.
It's not quite back yet either, which is irritating ><
Hopefully when I finish reading through your post (Which I'll do in a few hours with a couple beers) the Jack should be flowing and I'll get something out.

Just a reference. Put in what houses the mech rolls were on, but going from memory. Figure you guys may want or could use the house for specific variants or whatnot. Figure the Dragon could be Mr. Graff's (the guy from the WB Raven and Tharkard Summit RPs) father

1. Steel Lady, Jagermech
2. Lady Star-Struck, Catapult
3. Marauder FRR pilot
4. Archer FRR pilot
5. Orion Gun Runner pilot from FWL
6. Dragon FRR pilot
7. Anvil Warhammer
8. Ostroc FRR Pilot
9. Crusader FRR pilot
10. T-bolt FRR pilot
11. Grasshopper Liao pilot
12. Catapult. Davion pilot

Tradition dictates to respond :P
Jack's pretty unfriendly most of the time and he's currently cranky and going through withdrawal, so I didn't really see him being overly polite at some unknown youngster coming over calling them old :P
I figured D would say something like 'relax I know him' and Jack'd settle a bit? Then while he's grumbling that he and D could take the whole lot of them solo, Mooks McGee could come in and tell them D and Bertie are in the heavy match with Jack?

Definitely not my best work, but it's something.

Edit: Reading in on over a second time, it wasn't that bad. Funny if felt all clunky when I was writing it.
