When I launch MWO for the first time each day, it wants to patch, regardless of if its patch day or not. Today, after it patched, it told me there was a version mismatch. Any ideas of what I can do to fix this issue. I was playing this morning before turning off my computer, and it was working just fine. Thanks!

Bumping this because I have the exact same problem. Every time I launch the game applies a 2Gb patch (launcher says version 1.5.4.3) and then launches but throws a version error. If I then try launching again it applies 8 smaller patches and then works. Any thoughts on what is going on?

I've had this issue since the latest patch update (20th Aug). At first I let the 2.4Gb patch download (as it happened on Tuesday) and then got the version mismatch notification when I tried to log in. Ran the fix tool and it cleaned up the problem and the client ran fine.

Since then this issue has happened a few times throughout the week, but instead of letting it download I've closed the client when it's started to download again, waited a minute or two, then re-opened it and it's been fine. However, this morning (Sun 25th Aug) the client is constantly trying to download this patch. I'm sure it can be fixed again by running the fix tool, but I'd rather not have to waste time downloading 2.4Gb, having it patch to then be deleted again straight after.

My friend has this problem too. I linked him to the fix tool and he could start the game finally after several hours of pointless patching. Then the game crashed for both of us during our fourth match. Now he has to patch again. He is kinda done for now -.-

I have this to, every time I start the game it patches a file then comes up play, I log in and get Version miss match then log out patch again and finally get in game. But this is every time I start the thing..

Yeah, not keen on spending an hour or so patching every time I want to play.

I to have the same problem. It patch's the latest patch then says version mismatch then want me to download another 8 patch's

Ok after having this same problem myself I reinstalled the game onto my main SSD and had the exact same problem. But I have worked out a work around for now.

If you launch mech warrior from a shortcut for some reason the game will patch 1 file then come up play but give a version missmatch, then patch 8/8 files and come up play and work.

If you brows to "Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MechWarriorOnline.exe" where ever you have installed it to default is "C:\Program Files" what ever your running. The game will load right up and not need any patching.

This is working for me don't know about others. Just hope it helps.

Tried it. Didnt work Still wants to download the 8 patch's. I think I am going to do a complete format and see if i get the same.

was working for me too but now if it patches close it and re run the game, be sure to run as admin.

I have not had this problem, but when this happened to me, I fixed it by deleting the contents of the MWO update folder. Maybe this will work for you guys too?
