The ISL is now accepting applications for hire, please read on for more information:

The Inner Sphere Legionnaires Mercenary Corp was founded in 2784, directly following the exodus of Alexander Kerensky and the Star League Defense Force. Founded by Major Sarah Storme, the first of the legionnaires consisted primarily of mechwarriors of 451st strike battalion which remained behind as the major bulk of the SLDF withdrew from the Inner Sphere. Together with her two captains, Luther Vance and Marcus Dunherst, Major Storme forged the Legionnaires into formidable mercenary company scoring countless victories over the next 265 years. When the last remaining member of the original commanding tribunal, Luthar Vance, retired, the company was handed down to Sara Storme's son Jayce Storme, and his two highest ranking officers, Blake Heart, and Ralthus Constantine. This began a long standing tradition of handing down high command to the first born of the Storme bloodline, with the most recent being Kurt Storme, and the current High Commander Zeus Storme.

The ISL has earned a reputation for unwavering resolve and tactical ingenuity in battle, through countless contracts over hundreds of worlds in the Inner Sphere. The unit has built ties with other mercenary organizations by aiding them in battle. These organizations include such famous names as the Grey Death Legion and the Northwind Highlanders. These reasons primarily are why many mechwarriors seek the ISL for employment.

The ISL seeks skilled, dedicated mechwarriors, with resolve and determination to face what battles may come with the understanding that they are a part of a mercenary corporation that stands it's ground and gets results. In return, such mechwarriors are rewarded with the hard won spoils of their dedicated efforts, whilst maintaining unmatched professionalism. We want mechwarriors who can see beyond the C-bill, to the greater cause for which this company stands for.

Valores supra utilitatem: Values above profit.

=====================================================================================

In the Battletech universe, the ISL is the workhorse for a much more secretive organization known as the Order of Kerensky. This order believes fervently in reuniting the great houses of the Inner Sphere, and has attempted to place the ISL merc corp in a position that allows it to aid in decisive battles that may further their cause. While the founders hoped for the return of Aleksandr Kerensky, the current members of the order are split between the belief that he will return (despite the fact that he would be centuries dead by now) and the belief that even without Kerensky and the SLDF, the ideals and principles their organization were founded on must remain strong, so that the Inner Sphere may one day return to it's former glory.

Joining the ISL means you will be a part of a quality group of players, dedicated to team play. Practice and cooperation will be core aspects to our success as a unit.

New hires will be asked to choose a role type from the four available roles: scout, brawler, commander, heavy/defender. This will be your default job class, and will be what the ISL comes to you for first and foremost, so it should represent your preferred style of combat. Should you prove unable to perform in your desired role, you will be asked to try other roles to find a more suitable position for you.

It's important to note that choosing a role does not exclude you from playing in other combat roles. You will have plenty of opportunities to expand your skills into other skill trees, and we encourage that all ISL members have a broad variety of skills and abilities. We simply will use your role as our first method of delegating who fits where in any combat scenario.

Lastly, we ask that should you respond to this thread, you fill out this short questionnaire telling us about yourself. Once you've posted the questionnaire please register at our website and wait for approval: http://islmercs.spruz.com

About Zues Storm (call sign: A5mod3us):

I've been playing mechwarrior since mechwarrior 2, i've owned a copy of every mechwarrior game at one point or another. I love mechwarrior, and have read several of the battletech novels.

Unfortunately I've only played CBT a few times

I've only been involved in league play on mechwarrior 4 and mercs. I was a member of the Kell Hounds on the mechwarrior leagues, and started back when the MSN gaming zone was still around. This is my first command, but thanks to the help of some awesome people, I'm looking forward to forming and leading a strong and fun group of players into battle once mechwarrior online goes live.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you decide to apply to the ISL!

Pilot Name: Ted
Call Sign: LogicalTightRope
Preferred 'mech class: Medium (Lights work too)
Preferred Role: Brawler

What prior mechwarrior games have you played? MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries; MechWarrior: Living Legends

What prior mechwarrior games have you played online? MechWarrior: Living Legends

Have you played Classic Battletech? Nope.

Have you been a part of any units, leagues, or clans in prior online mechwarrior play? No. I have in a couple other games, but never MechWarrior.

In your own opinion, how do you believe you can benifit the Legionnaires? I want to be part of an effective Merc Corp. I want to be part of something bigger, to not be alone, and to not be a victim of pubstomping. I've considered several Houses and the FRR, but a House seems like too large of an organization for me to be able to get my input heard in. I deeply enjoy being an active part of an active community.

I believe that the Legionnaires will give me the best available play experience in the Inner Sphere, and that I can positively effect this organization as well.

Pilot Name: y'all know me as Hatsu but the Character will have a different name here. Hatsu is like 14 in 3049?
Call Sign: Chamomile
Preferred 'mech class: Light/Medium
Preferred Role: Brawler, could also play scout, but I'm not a sniper or LRM boat.

What prior mechwarrior games have you played?
Oddly, Mechcommander was my first. Then I got into 3, 4, Mercs and played an ungodly amount of mercs and still play an ungodly amount of mercs when the craving strikes.

What prior mechwarrior games have you played online?
Just 4 and mercs, and Megamek online if that counts.

Have you played Classic Battletech?
Mhm! But mostly either through Megamek or with kids at work, so never like seriously or competetively.

Have you been a part of any units, leagues, or clans in prior online mechwarrior play?
Kinda sorta. I've been in units but more like as the lulz mech mascot who runs around practice in a Thunderbolt Owens.

In your own opinion, how do you believe you can benifit the Legionnaires?
Good muffins, bad puns, and an unwavering enthusiasm for robo-combat. I'm not a talented pilot (some people would disagree) nor have I much interest in becoming one, but I just love everything about Mechs. Mostly I'm in it for the roleplay, and because A5mod3us is a boss.

Bio:
Magdalena DelCaos is far from the valiant knight that ISL warriors aspire to become. Though she's had a long career as a 'Mechwarrior, both her reputation and skill are questionable. She graduated from Sanglamore on Skye, and quickly won command of a lance, but was expelled from the LCAF when she was caught dealing in black-market arms. She's spent half a dozen years as a "treasure-hunter" in the Periphery, working alongside smugglers and looters, and garnered a reputation for fighting just about anyone who got in the way, pirates and militia alike. She's not an especially good pilot - Magdalena has lost more battlemechs than most pilots will ever touch... yet somehow always managed to survive. Oddly enough, when Magdalena managed to acquire a star-league memory core, she gave it to the ISL for nothing but a spot in their roster. It's anyone's guess why. If she can clean up her act and hone her skills, she might actually amount to something. In truth, she's always been loyal to her comrades, at least in battle... just make sure you don't leave any spare parts lying around. There's a reason she pilots 'mechs with hands.

What prior mechwarrior games have you played? MW4 and MW3.

What prior mechwarrior games have you played online? just a bit of MW4

Have you played Classic Battletech? No.

Have you been a part of any units, leagues, or clans in prior online mechwarrior play? No.

In your own opinion, how do you believe you can benifit the Legionnaires? I always loved teamplay, since there is nothing a good team can't do and it seems to be vital in MWO ;). So i hope to fit in the unit and fight alongside with other Legionnaires.

If you're still looking for recruits, I'll throw my lot in:

Pilot Name: Mark
Call Sign: RavensScar
Preferred 'mech class: Medium
Preferred Role: Brawler

What prior mechwarrior games have you played?
MW4: Mercs, both pre and post MekTek release.

What prior mechwarrior games have you played online?
None.

Have you played Classic Battletech?
Nope. Flicked through the rules out of curiosity once or twice, but never played.

Have you been a part of any units, leagues, or clans in prior online mechwarrior play?
Nope.

In your own opinion, how do you believe you can benefit the Legionnaires?
I can offer dry humour and tidy shooting. :P I enjoy teamwork, and I'm happy with role-based combat. My experience of online team-play is a little limited, but I'm happy to take advice and follow instructions.

Just a note: I'm from the UK (so GMT) and have a full time job, so I don't have masses of time to dedicate to online gaming. If this doesn't fit with how you want to run the ISL, please do say so.

Hello Mark!
Yes, we're still looking for recruits, 'cuz there's still quite few of us. I'll let everyone else know you're willing to join and someone will contact you ASAP.
And don't worry, as i said we're international and you'll propably find someone in your time zone or near to group up.
