We are the Davion Royal House Guards. The Royal House Guards is part of the Davion Brigade of Guards (Royal Brigade), but only answers to the Royal Family and carries the specific mission of defending the Davion royal family. The unit is stationed on the capital world of New Avalon and composed of hand picked elite members of the Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth. It is an honor and a privilege to be in this unit, and the Royal House Guards only accept the most disciplined and courageous soldiers.
Unit discipline is harsh and swift. There is no room for insubordination and members must have only the most perfect disciplinary records in and out of combat. Royal House Guards would gladly give their life for the royal family. Royal House Guards are sometimes referred to as paladins or knights in shining armor due to their strict code of honor.
This unit is currently participating in "Mechwarrior Online", which is currently in the "beta" development phase, and is accepting requests to be part of this elite unit. If you feel you can uphold the code of honor of the Royal House Guards you will be accepted with open arms and a hard punch to the chest. Due to game mechanics, our unit will be forming as a player-run "mercenary unit" when the option becomes available. Our goal is to participate in community warfare on behalf of House Davion.
These are the basic unit expectations:
• As we are representing an elite Davion royal house unit, you will always abide by the "Code of Conduct". This code can be found on our website; think of a medieval knight’s code of chivalry.
• We are a team and will play as a team. If you wish to be a lone wolf, please do not apply.
• As we are all playing the role of an elite royal mechwarrior (not a merc or regular house soldier), you are expected to treat your enemy with honor and respect, be friendly towards other allies, conduct yourself as a paragon of honor and loyalty, and be what you feel are the best things from the code of chivalry.
• The Royal House Guards have a dress code. Your 'mech will be painted in Davion honor guard colors at all times. Use White - Blue - Red in the default pattern. (or until a Vertical Stripe pattern becomes available). This DOES NOT allow for alternate camo patterns or colors. There is only one exception: If you become an "Ace" in a 'mech you can personalize your mech with your own camo pattern. Check our website for "Ace" requirements.
• While on Teamspeak you should be aware that there is a potential that what you say can be heard by people and children other than the players who are logged into Teamspeak. Therefore, refrain from using bad language. Also, your teammates are focusing on the battle and the orders of the leadership. Avoid talking about NON-BATTLE related topics (i.e. How many mechs you got? or, Did you see the game last night?). These are topics to be discussed in the dropship, not on the field.
• When you are playing MWO you will be logged into Teamspeak. NO EXCEPTIONS. You do not always have to play in teams with other Royal House Guards. You are encouraged to work together as a team, but sometimes you MUST play solo (i.e. leaderboard tournaments) or you just want to PUG. If you wish to frequently play solo, this is not the unit for you. We are teamwork focused.
• Report in weekly to the website. This allows for you to be apprised of any changes in the unit, the schedule, upcoming events etc. If you just log in to the website and exit your report in date will automatically update. Anyone who does not log in to the website is MIA and assumed to have stopped playing or no longer be interested in what the unit is doing. These individuals will be stricken from the roster. If at a later time you wish to rejoin the unit, just send in another Letter of Intent.
• The unit age limit is 16 years or older.
• Remember this: "The goal of the game is to win" AND "The point of the game is to have FUN!!!!"
Pilots of all skill levels are welcome to check us out. We offer a teamwork environment with various levels of training always ongoing, including video tutorials, weekly and monthly training events, and one on one Teamspeak help. We currently field 3 companies, each with 4 lances. It is not required that you join a lance, but it is strongly encouraged. We have players from all the North American time zones and a strong European presence. Visit our website! If you like what you see, complete a Letter of Intent and we will see you on the battlefield.
We have our own private Teamspeak server, but a couple of lances can be found on the House Davion Teamspeak server every Saturday night 50.22.145.232:7345
