Background: In Mechwarrior 3 and 4 I was a member of Clan Ghost Bear (For life of me I dunno which one <.< ), I had high enough rank to command one of our units, but I forgot exact rank, but above listing is likely close to it if not below, not sure. Was in there for around 4 years I think. Also have played Mechwarrior 2 and the RTS versions of Mechwarrior that Microsoft produced.

Background: MW3-4, MechCommander 1-2, Battletech since 2003/04, german tabletop chapter founded in 2005, added Aerospace components to our campaign in 2009.

The chapter started with a single Company of Mechs as an effort of lyran patriots to rebuild the shattered 12th Donegal. Over the years the command grew to a full fledged Regiment with an attached Armor Regiment by grabbing every piece of salvage we get our hands on and exploiting the family connections of some of our members. Currently my char holds the rank of Kommandant, commander of the 2nd Mech Battaillon. The regiment is currently participating in Operation Bulldog, attacking secondary targets as spearhead with minimal support (avoiding any interference with the fluff). Our chapter currently has 6 members and 2 affiliated independent players.

See you on the battlefield. Let's crush some Dracs.

Howdy all. Thought I'd say hi to Steiner. I played under House Steiner in the MPBT 3025 days before pay to play came back. Started at the bottom and worked my way up to CO of the Gravewalkers Regiment and then eventually hit the Gen rank briefly before quitting due to pay to play coming back. Joined up a bit later when we thought EA was going to make the game with the 1st Royal Guards where I was the XO. I played under the name Laser (John Laser). Only person here I remember is Pacer, though many names I remember like Kneecapper and Kinslayer. And someone mentioned good ole Skippy's Fern Bar. Ah the memories....I do remember one particular jaunt where I single handedly took my mech to Kurita to give them what for only to find I had been the victim of a terribly strong drink (whose name I forget unfortuantely) and I was actually in the latrine stall with my neurohelmet on. Such good times. heheh.

Unfortunately I don't think I will make my debut back in Steiner come launch. The politics of 3025 are so different from the reality of the current setting and Laser is not a character I will bring back. At this point I am likely to look for work with a merc unit as the LCAF under Katrina isn't really something I could do. I could never root for her in the books with her conniving ways. Still I wanted to drop in and say hi on the off chance I saw anyone I remembered or anyone remembered me which is likely doubtful based on the names I am seeing. Best of luck to Steiner.

Until the dev team gives us more details on how/if we'll be forming companies/units the answer is no one. Once/if we can can form companies/clans/guilds/teams then the command structure will sort itself out.

Anyone can call themselves the Archon but if they are continuously dispossessed we'll just start seeing them as "that crazy dude that thinks he's the Archon."

Personal notes: This is the first game where I can ally with the pre-Katrina Lyrans. Should be a refreshing change. I figure the AFFS eventually will need someone to shoot at in the 3060s.
