In MWO however it workls like this - the further the object is from the mech, the more blurred it is. The game does not take into accout the point on which the view is focused at all.
This results in sniping being a horrible experience - instead of seeing a clear and sharp picture when zoomed, we see a horribly blurred image because the objects we look at are far away. (and don't forget the x4 zoom module abomination, which is a disgrace to optics technology)
Thankfully, you can turn off Depth of Field effect by setting Post-Processing to low. However, this also turns off / reduces other effects, which makes the game look worse in geneal.
Why is DoF not working correctly in this game?
Is this by design, and if so, why in the world?
My suggestion is to make a separate option for Depth of Field (like in other games) in the graphics settings which is not linked to Post-Processing, so that people could turn it off without an impact on the graphics quality.
