Example 1: Compare and contrast SC and MWO
SC just clocked $16mil in crowd-funding. Everyone knew they'd get a new space dog-fighting area where players could place bets. Original and Veteran backers knew they'd get a laser pistol for boarding attacks once this target was reached. SC has even posted the $18mil unlocks and tells u exactly how much money has been generated to date.
MWO Project Phoenix. PGI introduces a loyalty unlock scheme after Project Phoenix launches. Why? - u trying to stimulate the economy or what? Secondly, MWO never states how much money has been generated for Project Phoenix.
This general lack of transparency is appalling. It's deceptive behaviour and your recent communications are increasingly evasive and non-committal. If you expect a committed customer-base then pls show some commitment to your customers.

I can't wait till the end of the year when all the news sites are running their best/worst of the year stories. I'm sure somebody will do a lovely autopsy of the failure of MWO and the path it took to ruin.

What you don't seem to be getting, or accepting Lysander is many of us who are upset are Founders, we put money into this game. I spent $120 on faith for a project that I was sold on. We put our money down at that start to fund this thing.
Now that, from all appearances, the game is going in a direction that is contrary to the vision and model that we were sold on, many of us are making the decision not to fund it any further, or even seek refunds on the PP or even our Founders packs.
For many of you if the game is going in a direction that you approve of, feel free to step up and put up the cash to support that vision. I won't begrudge it if you do (I see you have, just making a general statement). I did my share, I stood up early on, only to be disillusioned by the changes I've seen. No more money from me. I just don't want to fund a game that isn't what I expected.
Totally understand that it's a business too, I've been saying that in posts for the past year, and I said back then that 3PV was going to come regardless of what we said because there was too big a "target demographic" for them to ignore. It's upsetting that they are building the foundation of this game on the backs of the Founder group only to turn their backs on us in their march to reach their real "demographic".
The fact that it's a business decision, that they are doing it to broaden their audience, won't help me. I, and I suspect a lot of others feel betrayed and taken for granted. Hence the outcry.
This is pretty much how I feel. I even bought 2 Founders packs when I was already in Closed Beta. I've purchased MC as well. I have a couple Hero Mechs.
I would have been a regular spender. I would have maintained a Premium account.
But I'm apparently not part of the market they want. Since they feel that way, I will oblige and not be part of any market for them.
And when I get my Phoenix Overlord refund, I will spend it elsewhere. I'm told Star Citizen looks interesting. Maybe I will check that one out.

there to busy drooling over excel spread sheets promising them a greater return by catering to a generalized market of potential gamers.
while these jump from game to game in large numbers . they are not vested players thus they have very lil interest in the game.
unfortunately they make nice excel spread sheet numbers and look good on charts .
what they do however is act like a plaque of locust on field of crops.
but the only thing you can do is let them discover it for them selves and let them compete and struggle along with the other f2p games .
there was a time a business appreciated steady growth and a predictable monthly gross.
now it seems like they like to play the craps table.

If you read carefully the admission of increased game activity is only specified as their "target demographic."
Based on changes made to this game in recent months the target demographic does not include most of the founders, competitive players, or people looking at this game as a mech sim.

I won't pull my support for this game, because I want to see the franchise succeed and my lack of participation is akin to pouring dirt on the grave rather than giving CPR. And I won't pretend to know exactly what this game needs.. But I am going to express my concern, especially when my friends list is practically dead, and when web traffic stats support some of the criticisms being drawn here

The game definitely has a lot to be excited about. I just hope the initial reviews and impressions don't kill it =/

Also you might want to get your intern to work on http://mwomercs.com/game because there certainly seems to be some discrepancies between what's written and the actual gameplay

Looks like your CPR is working. Keep at it. Just remember, it's ok to stop for the following reasons:
1. You get exhausted and cannot continue
2. You are at risk of injury/ death if you remain conducting CPR, or
3. The beast is dead (you can stop now)

If players so wish, they can even increase C-Bill earnings substantially by exiting matches if they are destroyed early, and jumping into a new one.
For example:
If your Mech is destroyed to a roaming band of Jenners early on, you can jump out of that match and into a new one right away – potentially doubling your C-Bills to 1.2 million per hour! This cuts down your time to purchase new Mechs and equipment.
I didnt see this until I checked twitter.
WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Did you not learn ANYTHING from the first few weeks of open beta?

Hell. Even more people are mad now and you've alienated even more of your playerbase...
It's freaking amazing. If I didn't know any better I'd say you were doing it on purpose.

And you make very valid points with which I don't entierly disagree. My point is twofold. For starters, taking the founders pack you signed up for a game that you assumed was exactly what you wanted without ever seeing the end product. Had it been named differently, would you have dropped the same money, chanses are no. But I don't want to split hairs - you did make a decision to give them a very sizeable chunk of change for an experience, which they have, to an extent, failed to deliver. So again, I see your argument and they need to be held accountable.
That accountability is, unlike most of the community, not terrorized out of the develloper through threats, insults and all manner of poo flinging. There are ways of excerting pressure without reverting to childish outbursts of threats and insults.
Make a concerted effort in the form of a boycott of premium time, a targetted campaign of civil pressure on PGI and IGP. Not screaming and banging your fists at the doors and posting inflamatory "proof" that only pushes PGI further into seclusion.
For now, all these so-called hardcore fans have acted in such a way as to alienate PGI and the community and acted in the best way to drive the game into the ground. I've already seen this happen before, in EVE. A small but belligerent group of "enthousiasts" who agitated the community and almost brough the whole house down, they were called the goons. We all know that lots of them play this game, we all know what they are and we all know how they like to grief.
My feeling is that there are problems but certain people are compounding them. We're supposed to be in Beta, giving feedback. At this point, no feedback given to PGI is free of toxic diatrabe - why would they listen when everytime they ask for feedback it's delivered in the form of a flaming bag of poop? It's kind of a vicious circle and someone has got to break it, since these so-called fans care so much about the game, why don't they act in it's best intrests? They latched onto a valid mouvment and made it into a riot, no wonder the community and PGI aren't seeing eye-to-eye.

The game is really great, I appreciate your efforts to make it even better and overcome balance issues, which still remain unsolved. IMHO, PGI team made a great design of 3pv, effectively rendering it into useless feature for the the experienced players and helping tip for the beginners.
Hope, community will grow and new content will be developed. I personally will continue to support project, including buying MC.

Thank you for proving my point. now go play mechwarrior
If your point was to set an impossibly high bar in order to squelch any bit of criticism, point proven.
So from here on out, unless you go get a computer science degree and then work for the game company, you shouldn't offer any input. Gotcha.
