Wow that gamasutra article is so very fitting to what has been going on here. Everyone should be linking that everywhere they can here, twitter, and any other place the devs like to hide. I think it is safe to say the devs failed every rule.

its bata things are meant to change you should be thankful you get to keep the cbill you have earned so far, most games reset when they go live.
and company's make changes to there products all the time change of flavor removal of a perticuler line only to come back as as a special offer, its not like they sead c bills would be fixed at the value they were at its also not the first time they have been adjusted.

I was reading Online Community Management: Communication Through Gamers and came across these two rules.

This is a great read that PGI/IGP should consider.

The history of video game development is full of mistakes made by people who underestimated their players.

If something is possible, then there will be at least one player within your community who will do it.

Since 3PV has been implemented, I don't have an exact count of how many times it has been asked to "turn 3PV off". It's almost like 1 of every 4 games, I read this... and that's not a good sign of success (neither is forcing arm lock or throttle decay on a newbie). Forcing options by default is only going to exacerbate the newbie experience.

It ends when they do what they say they will do. Not what I say they should do, not what demographics say they should do. But what -they- say they will do.

This is the issue, as I said had you bothered to read before posting what you wanted me to say instead of what I actually said, not a matter of communication. The Devs were the ones who stated how 3PV would be implemented, and it was the Devs who then deliberately violated their own statement that no one would be forced to play in a 3PV environment.

Miscommunication never happened. Willful disregard for being truthfull and following through on their promises is (and it is not even debatable that they did make promises...they were not 'miscommunications' simply because they changed their minds later on and wish it had been).

What exactly did they inform us about? I don't see anything in this 'update' that updated me on anything going on with the game beyond 'CW might be talked about after launch at the launch party maybe', and they've been saying 'We might talk about CW at some point maybe in the future if you're lucky honest' since closed beta.

they were supposed to give us some info this month but that never happend. looks like they've decided to save it for the release party.

I loved this game... reasons? Mech models (MWO's mech designer - just god damned genius!) and... community. Year ago it was most friendly community I ever seen (MV Agusta forum exclusion). From August 2013 - things changed: I've added to my ignore list 20 times more persons than I added through 1.5 year been here.
As for game itself... I could accept all: ECM-abomination, heat thershold [censored], ghost heat, Gauss delay. But not absence of 1PV-only queue. Now I just can't force myself to play MWO cause I have no feeling that this game for persons like myself: hadcore BT-fans.
Thank you PGI! You just ruined the dream! So no more money from me too...

3Pv a success. A lot of new players?
I guess that due to the CBill nerf many players, especially new ones with a bleak outlook for the future, simply opend new accounts to farm the Cadet bonus...

Oh really? Where is the time for waiting for a match, after match, switching mechs etc.? Even with 8.6 min it isn't 7 games per hour, it is 5 to 6 only, which drop the average income per hour to app. 450.000 CB. 20% less than your numbers.

I'm not impressed and stop any further spending money...

I dun mind it , they are doing pretty good work on the game. the attempt so far is 1000 times better than what i could have thought up in a million years or dreamed. I kno delays happen, not all promises are kept but its a changing dynamic its a business. you have the hardcores and the casuals, each one fickle in what they want. so far i have enjoyed playing. I like the idea and im willing to support that. What i dun like as a player is some things are a lil hard to obtain with out real grind but thats expected of a game about skill. The better you do the more you get. I can see its hard to do i just hope the momentum starts to picking up.

tho i cant wait for warfare role bonuses for scouting, flanking, support fire ,stuff like that would make me a happy mechy
