So, PGI are happy with the current NPE/economy, huh. I don't know who made this nearly a YEAR ago, but it's sad how it's relevant forever.

And the "update" seems like a bunch of semi-random buzzwords and wishful thinking that reads like a parody. You couldn't make a better mockery even if you got Borat on board.

The Number of 3rd Person Player increase?
Cant be the reason that

1st. it is absolut new so from zero it is no suprise

2nd also the People that hate it have testet it to know what they have to deal with

3rd also people maybe dont like it do use it to take antvantages like looking over Hills or the Aimbot (If someone say there is no than just start for example Testing ground and move thr crossair near an mech, you see that it snaps to the MEch. Just work under 600 m).

4. the Defaulte set up bring me in 3rd PErson in the Game

5. New Player start the game with defaulte setting (look at point 4) and there is no Tutorial dont now to switsch or maybe dont know that 1st Person exist. (In my Clan are many new players and most never know for example that you can open Wapondoors in Catapult, Stalker,Centurio).

After that Points tell me that its a suprise that 3rd Person play rises!

Don't use coolshot, it is as they say "a trap".

I've never used it, and to be honest you don't really need to in day to day pugging when you're trying to save money up (in fact its just dumb to do so). One could make an argument for it in competitive games perhaps, but that still hasn't gotten me to use them.

Even without CS it is going to take you

262.03 games
2201.01 minutes
36.68 hours

to grind. That is over a full time job worth of playing if you want that mech in a week.

I created a new account (to avoid ELO affecting the results) and dropped in this new account. There were zero players using 3PV. So how this this drive new player retention? Did new players really leave in less than 1 week before?

I created one too, name is Komagn (name spelled backwards) and I'll tell you about 20-25% of the players total on both teams are using it. Also, lots of them don't use R to target anything as well. I have been going into matches these past 2 days and telling players to use R to target, Z to zoom, F4 to toggle views, LRMs need 180m before they can do damage, arm lock is on by default and how to turn it off, you can't snipe at 800m with medium lasers, and whatever else I can think of. Because you know what if they don't bother to come to the forums or find guides on how to play, I'll at least tell them. So if you see me in game under that pilot name and not moving for 30s, it's because I am typing.

How does war thunder make money if they give you all those planes for free?

Premium time, premium planes that give xp boosts and credits, plane slots as well as buying golden eagles that can be converted to credits and xp, that's what comes readily to mind. Great game and playable tanks will be in the game soon enough, followed by warships all fighting in the same battle/map.

'A good example is how we handle the UI 2.0 introduction and discussion. A lot of player feedback drove the design of UI 2.0, and we view it as a great success in communication and community involvement in the design process.'

i see ui2.0 discussed but i missed the introduction if its not in,how can it be a success?
no mention of dx11 except the test was cancelled.and no mention of updating the cryengine, is it still coming?

So please, keep posting suggestions, I'm here to forward them

The poor communication is literally making my brain hurt Garth. I like the mech warrior IP, I like my clan, I even have fun when I am playing with them.

You seem to understand communication, how a few well placed clarifying comments after people react to something you said(or your boss said; so you by proxy) can help clarify issues. Can you please drag your bosses back here to tell us straight why we are not in their target demo? why insulting us is their modus operandi? Why they keep making changes to the overall game based on people who are either very green to mech warrior or are casual players?

Several things are baffling to me here:

One. You're boss seemed to say nothing in this post other than stop sending threats to us.

Two. He also said in order to reduce the potential for negative feedback they are going to keep design decisions closer to the chest.

Three. He acknowledged that the August updates for CW that we were allegedly getting were not coming out in the next three days without acknowledging that they missed another self imposed deadline.

Four. He mentioned a "target demo" can you clarify what that is? I want to know so that I can decide if I want to be part of it. I thought it was simulator fans who also like big stompy mechs.

Five. How is this a creative director update? he addressed nothing creative. I assume it was called that because we were expecting one of those for September and he really didn't want to make one.

Six. In response to an ongoing communication issue that the community feels exists, and that he acknowledged in his "apology" the company line now seems to be "We'll we've shifted to the format that we've acknowledged isn't getting it done. Live with it."

Garth, please, Drag your bosses into some sort of redit chat, or other monitored chat for an hour. Do this over and over, with a different or several different people a day, so that they can communicate in real time with the people who take time out of their day to post on here and want desperately to know they are being heard. A biweekly 'ask the devs' feature and a monthly creative update just aren't cutting it.

We want to make PGI successful, and make all of you filthy rich by helping you make the best game possible. Our goal is your success and our fun playing a game you built. Let us help you.

90 more days guys! just 90 more days and they may have those basic features live!

That is really inspiring, your economic math seems faulty, really faulty. That seems about right for the top 2 or 3 players in the match, if they have premium time.

I disagree I am usually in the top 5 and I usually receive about 120,000 on a loss and about 200,000 on a win. Granted this is much less than what I used to get, obviously, but in this case the math appears solid.

What in the sweet holy Christmas is wrong with people?

Threatening the families of the developers?

Round those gutless idiots up, stick em in the back of a Chinook with a knife, poncho, and three matches. Dump 'em on Baffin Island. If they make it back, good. If they don't, good.

Once it's on the internet, it's never going away. I hope you get slammed into the boards for saying that kind of {Scrap}. Kudos to PGI for calling the cops.

I've been monitoring these threads and I haven't seen a single threat to anyone. Do you have proof of this? If you do, please link the post... If not, please leave the lying to PGI.

Im just tired of going into the forums and its non-stop.

Person One: "PGI LIED!!!!"

Person Two: "No, THEY DID NOT!!"

PO: "YES THEY DID BECAUSE OF X, Y, and Z!!!"

PT: "NO THEY DID NOT BECAUSE OF A B and C!!!"

I mean really? Is this not boring? And a bit frustrating as well? Maybe not the first time, but for the 500th?

Cant we all just get along!!!! :-) (I know the answer to that, just wanted to say that line)

EDIT: corrected some spelling :-)

The problem is that PGI did lie about 3PV and this lie about 3PV was abosolutly critical for getting so much support from the founders. I'd wager that a large percentage of the founders were coming from NBT and other forced 1PV leagues/servers.

The saga so far...

They said it so many times and so strongly that I had no reason to doubt them, now I have no reason to trust them...

Posted Image

So the 'gate' is not launch, what is the 'gate' of which you speak?

Why split queues (other than because you said you would)?

For the 3x monitor guys...
Posted Image

and the rest...

Now if only they could admit that looking over and around terrain is an advantage...

Posted Image

So some advantage is fine? Way to balance your game, if the queues were split it would make no difference if 3pv gets an advantage.

Posted Image

With all the new players that 3pv generated and the great retention (wow a little over 1 week since the change and you can already tell they are not going to quit) can we please have the separate 1pv queue back? Please?

So remind me, which one of these ideas came from (or were well received by) the community:
Ghost Heat: the Magnum Opus
Ghost Damage
Ghost Delay
Ghost Target Demographic
Ghost Posting
Third person view

TIA~~~~~

Ghost Heat was the Communities Idea. How many threads were there asking the devs to do something about giving 6 PPC Stalkers heat penalties. So what did they do, they included almost every weapon system int he game instead of just the PPCs. So don't for a second think that Ghost Heat was not our doing.

Remove C-Bills.

just make it a match counter like 10 for a light, 15 for a medium, 20 heavy, 25 for an assault. Wins are worth 1, losses worth .25.

Equipment can be purchased with kills & assists.

Reasoning:

Cbills are only used to buy mechs & equipment. Anything else requires MC. I doubt many STD variants are bought with MC, so it stands to reason, that there is no logical purpose to restricting how many mechs a player can purchase. More mechs = more bays = more paint/patterns = more MC purchases. Premium time can still increase these bonuses, and hasten grinds (you need xp anyhow).

Improvement suggestion for the next CDU: More Dates, more hard facts, more numbers, less words.

I've been on your side the most time, even throughout this whole 3PV mess PGI, but Russ just admitted, that you made terrible communication mistakes, why do you the same mistakes again by not telling uswhat you are doing, what finished and what is coming and when?

Dont get me wrong, this is a great game and i like 80% of it, but you could improve your customer relation really easily. Just tell us whats going on (with real dates and numbers/facts) and pull of a few challenges (like we had). Maybe a nice sale or something free for Beta Testers and voila: You get money, we get satisfied - Win Win Situation.

reading comprehension... read between the lines, he already said what we can expect within the next 90 days

Those posts have not shown up in this thread but did happen more than once in the 3rd Person feedback thread. As is the case with anything of that nature, they were promptly removed, and posting a screenshot of them here would be a terrible idea given that they were removed in the first place.

Regardless, it has happened, both in public and in private and it's completely inexcusable.

Oh for hells sake...

Its warhammer online all over again...

"The forums are a loud minority"

"We have our metrics so we know what we are doing"

"The game is doing great with lots of new users comming in"

"We know what our players want because things"

REALLY?

You dont happen to have alot of ex-mythic people in your dev studio? Or have you hired the same PR guys mythic had back in the day?

Because WARHAMMER online, a stronger IP then battletech will ever be was on Life support after half a year! The game was so badly balanced and the players who spoke up against that where so blatantly flipped off that people just gave up on the game.

Oh and if theres new players comming in like crazy and registrations are at an all time high then why the bajeebus do i keep encountering the same guys over and over and over in my drops?

And that math is all fine and dandy but 12 people in a match will have to cope with around 50k or less whenever they loose.

This game has a winning side and a loosing side... dont make it sound like "everyone" making 75k a match in general when the truth is that only 12 of 24 is making that amount because they belong to the winning side.

I'll believe that it happened when I see proof of it. PGI has no credibility with me, so I won't take their word for it. And yes, I read like 80% of the monster thread and I've never seen anything remotely close to what you describe.
