Haven't played this game in quite a while now :)
I love Battletech. books, mechwarrior games, tabletop, everything about the universe. I wanted this game to be what its supposed to be. Nearly all my posts here have been about the lackluster job and poor decisions PGI have made.
and with all the recent backlash, boy does it feel good to be right... in all the wrong ways :(

Its pretty much official now that PGI are a cowboy company out for a quick buck and willing to steamroll over an IP to get it. "but what about sarah's mech" you say, sure, its good to give to charity but pgi is looking at exposure and to build a reputation from that, nothing in this world is free. it was good PR and good for the cause.
but all that doesnt make a lick of difference to how they are handling the game and the people that play it. you have a million different ways to give this company money but they have given you so few ways to play this game. a couple of maps, a couple of mechs and 2 game modes. and its been a YEAR. oh lets not forget an ELO system that has to account for 24 randomly put together players :( clap clap.

they are destroying what should be the greatest game of my adult life. i kept wanting to be wrong but day after day, month after month, i have been proven right. dont worry though, community warfare is coming, really, no seriously it is...

the biggest tell was when they got rid of the "General" forum. thats the sign of a company that doesn't want to hear about everything they are doing wrong. its the sign of a company that in reality has little time for criticism and its the sign of a company that are only interested in their goals.
so yeah, well done PGI. you have taken a big steamy dump all over something I love. gratz

I thought these where all well established facts by now.

Why the need to create another thread about it when everyone is allready in the know kept for a couple of white knights with what i can only descripe as a mild form of stockholm syndrome?

the biggest tell was when they got rid of the "General" forum.

I figured MW:O was done when Paul teased the heat-scale system, hundreds of posts were written claiming that it was incredibly stupid (and a few dozen, that it wasn't locked in); and then Paul managed to **** it up in exactly every way that was predicted and then some.

97% of posters asking for an explanation about Large Pulse Lasers, only to have it totally ignored, speaks volumes.

But really, the 6 MG Spider posts from PGI should have been indicative of a gross misunderstanding of the game-play long before these incidents. The continual lack of any internal Q/A should have told us all that there are no serious resources behind the game.

The blatant money-grab that is Phoenix Pack, well, I hope the folks who bought that are enjoying MW:O. I am glad I did not purchase it.

Yeah, I think you're preaching to the choir on this one bud.

I have stage 4 Melanoma and I'm disabled. Last year when I heard this game was about to do CB, I begged, borrowed and stole 430 dollars to buy a good gaming rig and get in the founders program. I was so tired of booting up MW4 and 3 when I felt the need for a mech fix. Finally, a modern mech shoot em up totally modernized!!!! I read every insignificant peice of IS news and anything on the forums until that joyous day when the founders were all granted closed beta access.

I'm still here and still playing because I love all things BT as well, but my God PGI has not only dropped the ball, they molested it, set it on fire and THREW it down a stormdrain.

I wish I had not paid anything at all for this game. Even the 30 bucks for BETA access was too much money wasted. Damn my naive childlike enthusiasm for huge, stompy robots that are ridiculously unrealistic on every functional level.

I figure I might as well stay on the sinking ship while the band plays along.

I dont understand how you guys are so bitter. I have a lot of fun playing this game with the clan I belong to, we have fun every day. Some people arent happy with the way things are, and I too wish a lot more was implemented at this point than there is, but Im not at the point where im going to uninstall the game and spend the rest of my time making angry posts on the forums about it.

PGI definitely needs to get their act together and release community warfare, clan tech and more maps etc, and more game modes ( Dropship mode ) or else the community will just keep getting more and more upset.

But from my perspective, I quit playing for about 5 months, and when I came back its like a whole new game and now I am having fun again. Maybe you guys are just burning yourselves out.

Also what I want to see pronto is client stability fixes. This game client is horrible at handling any kind of lag, so that is high on my list of what I want to see addressed.

I don't regret spending the money. I got quite a lot of enjoyment out of the game in the last 10 months. I have serious doubts I'll see the 1 year mark.

I am rather thankful that they were at least considerate enough to announce the Heat Scale when hey did, since there were several things I may have spent money on if they hadn't. But luckily, I was forewarned that I wouldn't be playing much longer.

I feel like ECM was the beginning of a probable end for the relationship between me and this game...

Free-fall for several months after december.. then a little bit of hope in April... then slowly sliding down a hill, little plateau at Canyon and 12v12... then watching myself go over a cliff.. in lovely 3rd Person View.

I'm not done yet.. there may yet by a 3pv/1pv queue split "parachute" to cushion the fall.. but if it doesn't deploy.. I'm probably done for a good long time if not indefinitely.

But all you did is dump on the game and the devs. How is that helping anyone? They're not going to suddenly be better because you called them out or stated the game is bad while offering very little in return. I've seen other people do the same. But they offer a lot of suggestions to improve the game.

I have fun playing the game too. Well ok I don't with the crappy cap war sessions on a mode called assault, but other than that. I have only been playing a few matches a day due to RL issues. While PGI needs to get there {Scrap} together as far as Customer Service goes the game is still fun. The heat thing doesn't even bother me. It's a temp solution until they get proper heat effects in. It only seems to bother people that need to fire 4ppcs to get a kill or they die.

I'm curious, what exactly were you right about? You don't claim to have made any predictions that have come true.

+nice mech art

- broken hit registration -Agreed and they have been working on it
- poor fps - Mines fine
- massive balance issues for months - Thats how most games are right. It's All about balance. Now where the F is my healer Smh
- non functional match making + arm lock, 3pv, throttle decay defaults for new players (WTF?!) Yep Arm lock/Throttle Decay is so hard to turn off (Options Menu). Yeah they screwed it up on 3pv by not making us aware. I could personally give a {Scrap} if its in game but Justify the actions. 3PV is pathetic btw
- awfull ui. Huh? UI 2.0 is in the works. Other than tracking down your mechs how is it hard? You can set Weapon groups in Training ground
- lies I agree with this only because they fail to communicate. Retracting a statement made a year ago is fine as long as the players are aware of the reasons. Its a game. If we don'y like it we don't play.
- fake forum restructure Yeah one that's easy to move around
- useless chassi (awesome, kintaro, most mediums) Kints getting fixed. I do really good in Hunchbacks, Cents and Blackjacks. Most people just don't know how to run them or bother trying.
- p2w coolant debacle. Oh yeah what a travesty that was. lmao. They fixed the PTW aspect of that rather quick. I personally liked coolent flush in all other mech games.
- no word on the actual game aka. cw whatsoever :Agree with this one.
