Here is my problem with the Bryan Ekman podcast...IT SAID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING NEW OR CONCRETE!

The interview was the same old re-hash of vague promises and pie-in-the-sky, "I have this vision of what we can do" spin doctoring. The was note a single hard fact, set goal or delivery date for anything Bryan discussed, other than that it would all happen sometime after launch and sometime after UI 2.0 rolls out, which also has NO SPECIFIC rollout time frame. Everything hinged on "maybe", " when", or "if".

Since PGI, with a few rare exceptions, has failed to meet nearly every promise, deadline, projection, or vision that they have committed to in the past, why does segments of the MWO community continue to support this developer?
.

The reason why Bryan has to say "maybe, when and If" is because when they tell the community they are going to do something for sure, and then have to alter It, everyone goes nuts and then the whiner posts flood the forum. Plus, did you listen to all three hours of the podcasts? If you did, then you would know that there was a ton of new stuff mentioned, some with dates. DX11 is supposed to hit the test servers next week or the week after. New map first October patch along with UI 2.0. Mad Cat/Timber Wolf art was done up. etc etc etc, I've made so many posts talking about this I'm staring to hear the record skip.

Be careful not to get left behind :)

Yes, I did listen to all three hours. And the only firm date last he gave was for a new map with the October patch, and a 'maybe Nov or Dec' for the new Moon map. Again, DX11 is 'supposed' to be in test by 'next week or the week after that, or the week after that, or the week after THAT, ad infinitum...Get the idea of the trend here?

He never said anything about UI 2.0 definitely coming out with the Oct.patch, only that he hoped it would be ready by that patch. If PGI is so far along, where is an open test for the new UI for the community to see it and evaluate the changes?

If they have art already for the Madcat/Timberwolf, then why not let us actually SEE it?

And as for all of the 'new' stuff that Bryan talked about, like say, Community Warfare, we have been waiting so long for it I guess PGI figures we have forgotten about it and that they can reintroduce it as this great new idea! All the other new stuff was given as a vague ' we want to do this someday', and was never stated that there is firm development time frame, schedule, or process.

This is the usual difference between us 'whiners', who actually expect PGI to deliver content when and where they say they will, commit to living up to the promises that they continue to make, and not to communicate with the community about disappointments after the fact, and the diehard MWO or PGI loyalists who continue to believe and advocate for anything the developer says they may be able to do with this game...Someday.

When is long enough, enough?

Chill out dude no one cares of your whining...
yes you are doing that this tread have noting to do with the topic u writing on PLS moderators move all thise post to somewhere else i like to read opinions about the saber package! Not some one crying about Dx11 CW Clans 3PV or anything else...

Saber Reinforcement pack

So anyone found some good builds ?

i was quiet shocked about the engine rate on the griffin if u put the max engine u can have just the same armor, weapon, jumpjets, so the same loadout as the trebuchet 7M.... not a gram bigger both runs with the same speed
it should have at least half tone extra for a bit more armor... but it isnt
so instead of the griffin you can run in the trebuchet better its smaller uglier too :) in my opinion.

the wolverine will be interesting i was checking the 2 ballistick ona black jack and waoo cant wait for that its going to be a beast jump brawler

WE NEED A DESCENT FUTURISTIC CITY WHERE WE CAN JUMP FROM BUILDING BLOCK TO BLOCK AND HAVE THIS MAD FUNNY PLAY STILE BUILDINGS IN RIVER CITY ARE TOO SMALL the only thing i can do is to jump the other side of a building and take cower or not even that because the buildings are too high.
Jumping from one to the other its almost impossible as the mech slows down when landing and there isnt space to speed up,
or space to land.
the city missing some interesting looking highways like EDINBURGH ARCHITECTURE when the block of building become to large they simply put a highway on top between the 2 building and keep on growing those blocks this would make an interesting multi leveled fighting area

You can see the grige runs on the left side straight in to th midle of the buildings and the highway runs all the way in the city

We've been given previews of UI 2.0 and you see how people have been reacting to not having it yet, and then you ask to see the MadCat art when you know it's probably not coming for at least another year?!?

Better yet, look at how people went absolutely pants-on-head bonkers when the Orion and Flea were subbed in by the Victor and Kintaro (and whatever else came through). How do you think they'll react to the MadCat when they don't get it for another year?

Bought the Overlord, and the Saber. Sabre is the reason I will not buy a Kintaro now. I will have more than enough medium mechs. (Of course, I do have money for that Hero Hunchback. hint, hint...)

Yeah, good call. I already bought the Golden Boy and another Kintaro. Once Project Phoenix is released I might end up selling the Kintaros since I'll regret it at that point.

whats nice for a 55 ton mech versus a lighter one is the armor you can mount and still have a nice weapon load with decent speed before you add in the star league tech .

My self i can not wait to get my hands on the 55 toners they have coming.

I purchased the Overlord Phoenix package. This "addon" seems ill-timed as we have not received the original goods yet. No offense, but my faith only goes so far. Sitting on two promised, but not yet delivered content packages is a bit too much risk for me.

I think I will hold off until we receive the content from the Phoenix Package and I can get a good sense of what my original $80 got me...

2 weeks later.... ditto

So... we're going from 1 55 tonner (Kintaro) to like 4 overnight (Griffin, Wolverine, and Shadowhawk).

Let us pray the scale and hitboxes are not terrible.

if they are scaled to the Hunchback, I will love them to death.

If they are scaled to the Trebuchet, I will weep

why would you regret it? the package mechs are better suited to a different role than the kintaro is. The kintaro is best suited to the light killer role (that is not saying it can't brawl), with the ballistic hardpoints the package Med mechs (except the Griff) would be better brawlers like the BJ/Centurion is.

Well already invested in an Overlord package, sad story is i bought before all the ghost heat system (manageable) and the weapons linkage not too long after ( ruined it) got out. Now i m still unsure if i still want it unless they magicaly fix the whole balancing mess and makles it fun to play again.

So i wont ask a refund because i still enjoy it ( less) and i have hope that things will settle down and get back in place but you wont get any more money from me until then. So start brewing coffee and solve this!

2 new mechs that essentially have the exact same loadout and functionality as the Shadowhawk that I will already get with my Overlord package. No thanks. If they were noticeably different maybe I would have bought it since I like variety in my mechs. The Hunchbacks that I already own function very differently than my Cicadas and will be different from my Shadowhawk's performance.

I don't see how the Grif, Shawk, and Wolv are the same. Wolverine will have ECM (phoenix Hawk electronic gear) the Grif will be a highly mobile mech (think spider). Shawk should be able to carry a better mix of weapons, or more powerful weapons afaik!

From where Do you get the Information that any of the 3 will have ECM? From all I know none will have it.

http://www.sarna.net...ine_(BattleMech) something wrong with link! The Wolverine was developed as a fast strike 'Mech. With a top speed of 86.4 km/h and a jumping distance of one hundred and fifty meters, the Wolverine meets the speed requirements for just such a machine. The model has become known for its versatility and is considered a jack of all trades throughout the Inner Sphere. With the same electronics package as the Phoenix Hawk
