You know, the time you round the corner, or pop over a ridge, and it's there. Staring at you with full health, ready to take you down.

We've all got one we totally hate facing more than anything, right?

Mine's gotta be Misery. I ****ing hate seeing this thing on the battlefield. Im not sure if it's stronger than a regular stalker, but it never, ever dies.

I always run away when i see Misery approaching >_>
The Spider. Due to the lag shield, this happens far too often:

(In all seriousness, though... it's never one mech- those you can run away from or otherwise deal with. It's the firing squads that contain at least one mech that can run you down after you've lost all of your armor to 3+ simultaneous alpha strikes)

I don't fear any particular mech, or load out, or variant. I do however have a healthy fear and respect for many of the pilots currently playing MWO.

This, enough said. To bad alot of those ppl I never see any more. Broceratops and Undead where are you?

AC40s Jäger suddenly 50 meters behind me.

Beeing alone in my Assault encircled by 2-3 lights.

In an open spot and an LRM60 Catapult tags me.

In a lance, someone chats "push" and I am the only one advancing over that ridge.

1 on 1 in a Jenner against a Raven 3L.

good damage fast lights with bad ping.

-fear my pug team mate will chase squirrel
-fear my shot won't register because of lag
-fear my team mate keep shooting the light and not hit
-fear that they will divide up the team with base cap

there are probably more...

though i have to say these "fear" are closer to "oh god, not again!" when i see them chasing squirrel etc.

I don't FEAR a mech per se, but for all the {Scrap} Victors seem to get, I don't like running into those.

Multiple lights circling me are the next thing I don't care for LOL. Especially when I can never hit the darn things.

Spiders, because I can't hit them for anything. AC/40 Jagers, because they core out my mediums in seconds. Poptarting Highlanders, because they tend to shoot off large chunks of my body before I see them. Oh, and poptarting Victors. They're like faster, slightly less tough Highlanders O_o

Really, any heavily-armored mech with halfway decent firepower is one I don't want to round the corner on. However, Victors are close to the top, because they can actually TRACK me fairly well (light pilot). Stalkers too, because they have so much power and so much durability.

No specific Mech, although I agree the Misery can be scary, more that moment you find yourself out on the flank of your unit, and you peek into a canyon on Network or Tormaline and see most of the bad guys huddled around an ECM Atlas. And they're all looking at you...

I love it when people say, "Why didn't you tell us they were there?" "'cause I was too busy sh*tting myself and trying to get out of there alive!"

Mostly any concern (not fear) is over good pilots, not necessarily mechs. But there is no doubt that I experience greater trepidation upon walking into these: HGN, VTR, STK, CTF, JM6, and any great light pilot.

Stalkers. You round that corner, and a stalker slowly, ponderously, turns to give you that uncaring stare while you try to back the **** up. You know something really bad is about to happen.

I love my Stalkers :P

There are few mechs I fear in truth.

There are mechs that make me want to slap their pilots for being douche nozzles.

A Jaeger -A with AC-20's. Why would you buy a mech with four missile slots and then not use them?!? That is just sad. They should go and do something with themselves. Vigorously.

A1 catapults with all streaks or SRM-6's(back in the day).

And the now nearly extinct 6 PPC stalker.

All of the above show the intense practice and talent needed to successfully push one button.

The amount of contempt I had for these meant that I never even considered buying an A1 or stalker. And even though I have all the jaegers, none have an AC-20 on it. I feel dirty even in the mech lab and have to cancel the build.

At this moment all mechs that can equip multiple lrm 20's then go and chain launch lrms in a skilless spamming succession that can overwhelm even mechs with dual ams. Might as well call it lrm rain maker cause it is always raining lrms.

I generally pilot a Jenner F - the thing that makes me run is that Kintaro build with 5 missile hard points, all filled with Streak 2's.

KTO is a **** mech no doubt, but If I see one of those things and it's healthy and interested in me - I get the hell out of dodge.

As a light pilot, I fear high speed streak boat kintaros. I can't outrun them fast enough to avoid dying and killing them is about a 50/50 shot since they're hitting me for 25 guaranteed damage frequently.

To quote you, "this." I really only get nervous when I spot one of a handful of names from the early days of closed beta. Some of those guys and gals are nasty good, and more than a few of them probably owe me one from a few of those matches. Too bad there seems to be so few of them around anymore. I've taken to cheerfully greeting any of them that I spot. It's kinda fun, really.

As for an actual 'Mech that I fear? Hmm, maybe I'm showing my meta-age, but a well-piloted Hunchback makes me sweat. Jenners only tick me off, and Atlases can be frustrating. However, if you put me in a match and I see a Hunchie doing his job perfectly, he becomes my primary target.
