The XL315 is only useful for the Catapults. I didn't really think it would be worth the money to upgrade from XL300 to XL315, it's quite expensive. I was wrong. CPLT-K2 with XL315 is like the lovechild of an Apache gunboat, a T90 battle tank and Robocop.

It is actually an option for me to go for two other catapult variants to unlock the elite mech tree for those. I still have some time to think about it since my c-bill account doesn't allow either engine at the moment anyway. Pretty happy, though that I posted this question in advance, otherwise I would definately have picked the wrong one.

I finally decided to go with an XL315 and it is AWESOME! I'm friggin' fast for a heavy and even have a little bit more firepower with the same heat dissipation as before! It is so much fun and controls like a charm. Love it!
