I saw mention of clan weapons, does that mean Community Warfare's moving along at a good pace now? How is CW at all?

We don't know, CW now is the same as CW this time last year: Something they talk about eventually doing.

(Unless you believe the more bitter among us, in which case Russ Bollocks' sarcastic tweets about anyone who doesn't suck PGI's [REDACTED] living on Fantasy Island to be "him at war with the community, thus Community Warfare is Working as Intended™.)

It would be the smart move for a small company like PGI to realize they can't and shouldn't micromanage the players. Give the community the tools to create the community warfare content (Think Eve) and they can focus on making mechs and screwing up balance.

And the last time PGI made a "smart" move was...anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

By the way, it sounds like dropship mode might be coming eventually. Maybe?

View PostPaul', on 23 September 2013 - 11:11 AM, said:

Many of the modes you have suggested rely on a respawn system which is something we’re not truly supporting. You may have heard of DropShip mode where players will be able to take up to 4 Mechs into a match. This is something that is still on deck but will require a rather significant amount of resources on all three fronts of the game (gameplay, UI, backend Match Making) There is no ETA for this at the moment.

I wonder if they'll set the 1:1 timeline back; because this year amounted to nothing in development.

The clans are aggressively investigating the invasion corridor, the current deployment schedule is working as intended. Keshisk 2.0 is the real bottleneck though.

The Clans took one look at this and went

"Not even The Great Kerensky can fix this mess."

They've decided to check back on MWO later, taking Half of the Community with them.

Ahhhh, nostalgia, back before everyone had waited 2 years for this stuff. Wonder if anyone still on the "soon soon train" still thinks we're being impatient?

This game was nearly perfect 1 year ago.

What was so perfect exactly? The godawful hit detection? The godmode lights? the ECM spam with no counter? Jump sniping? PPC Stalkers? Even shittier weapon balance? I think we're all a little young to be going senile here.

That said, I haven't been playing for a couple months at least, and I'm not planning on coming back until I see either clans, community warfare, or something else equally interesting. Deathmatch on the same few maps stopped cutting it a long time ago, and with unlimited customization and a lack of major differences between mechs, I can't even rely on my giant mechbay for much variety.

You might as well get comfy with whatever you're playing now. No difference on the announcement tonight and the one two years ago. It is nice to know that it only took them two years to put a PowerPoint together on it though

Didn't get in on the Founder's stuff, had no money at the time or interest in the BT universe/MW games. However, thru lots of convincing and watching of streams I got interested, put in some blood/sweat/tears doing the initial grinding back at the start of open beta with my buddies and eventually spent a little money. That money turned into ~$200 dollars over the past year (most of it prior to 2013 kicking off and the rest in Jan/Feb of 2013) and guess what happened....

...The game is everything but what initially got me interested and playing it 3-4 hours a night on top of grinding out legendary weapons in Guild Wars 2 simultaneously all while leading WvW teams on the #1 server at the time for 6 hours a night. None of my buddies who drug me along for the ride play any longer and haven't played for over half a year. And the icing on the cake - the game still suffers, has very little sense of progression depsite a 'grand direction and end-game plan' for development, and now I don't even have time to play, even if the game was still enjoyable to even a minimal degree.

Long story short, never throwing money the window again...well maybe out my car window, at least then I know somebody somewhere will make use of it.

Do you suppose that this November, we will be told the same tale about expecting Community Warfare in January-February?

Just read the thread, which is very descriptive of the current situation of MWO.

Unfortunately and unbelievably, It would indeed seem that no CW this year.

It happens so often in these forums that you look back at a comment, which - at a time - seemed like gross exaggeration of PGI's problems and even a bit unfair. Only to notice when the time is upon you that the notion was in fact optimistic. :I

Same, It's hard to look at past performance and NOT be skeptical. Normally I don't like to pile on, but damn!
