Joystick Turn axis has about 20x more Gain than Twist and Tilt does. It's impossible to balance Turn with the other two axii. I am forced to just set the Turn Deadzone to 95%.

I know many players have been unable to setup their Joysticks to play competitively. I use a joystick anyway, but if I accidently bump the Turn axis my mech spins 20-30 degrees in that direction. Normally if you use a joystick you use Mech Turn as your final Aim allignment, MWO forces you to use Twist instead, but this is very cumbersome, inaccurate and you still don't have Mech Turn to help.

I am using the User.cfg to try to find a working balance, but there is none.

Maybe there is a work-around, like a seperate Turn setting for Gain and Sensitivity for the User.cfg?

I use a 3rd party joystick profiler. This took care of all my problems. I use a Logitech force 3d pro with the Logitech drivers and profiler. I downloaded the profiler at Logitech site. Try the site for your brand of joystick. They might have something for you.

That's my joystick and set-up. The problem is that MWO's Analog Turn has 20x the Gain of the Twist and Tilt axii and both MWO's user.cfg and Logitech Profiler can't get the two into a working balance. Do you use the User.cfg file located here; C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER.CFG, or just the Logitech Profiler?

My current user.cfg

cl_joystick_gain = 3.277
cl_joystick_sensitivity = 3.517
cl_joystick_throttle_range = 0
cl_joystick_invert_throttle = 0
cl_joystick_invert_pitch = 0
cl_joystick_invert_yaw = 0
cl_joystick_invert_turn = 0
I_joystick_deadzone = 0.031
I_joystick_buffered = 0

This is then fine tuned with the Logitech Profiler.

Back in closed beta I ran with my ancient joystick. It was impossible until I swapped the turn and twist axes. After that it was perfect. Saitek 3d gold

Yes, did that on day one of joystick support for MWO. For some reason MWO has Mech Turn set to the RZ axis and it has always been the more logical X-axis. Turn on X allows you to set the the Twist axis to a static position.

I have been experimenting with the User.cfg and I added :

cl_joystick_turn_gain = 0.003
cl_joystick_turn_sensitivity = 17

and bizarrely, this worked. Does this make any Coding sense at all?

new User.CFG looks like this:

cl_joystick_gain = 3.277
cl_joystick_sensitivity = 3.517
cl_joystick_turn_gain = 0.003
cl_joystick_turn_sensitivity = 17
cl_joystick_throttle_range = 0
cl_joystick_invert_throttle = 0
cl_joystick_invert_pitch = 0
cl_joystick_invert_yaw = 0
cl_joystick_invert_turn = 0
I_joystick_deadzone = 0.031
I_joystick_buffered = 0

So, I made a work-around, I think. It's working anyway.

Be advised I use Logitech's Joystick Profiler in conjunction with the User.CFG file to fine tune things, so if you just use the User.cfg these settings won't be ideal. Anyway Joystick Turn is very smooth now for the first time ever.

I deleted the user config and only use the profiler.
