...Not sure if 12s drop against pugs.

No, a 12-man team can only drop against other 12-man teams. It's a different game when you do that.
(It was like that with 8-man teams, too.)

If you get two 4-man groups on a team, they're usually 2 groups that don't know each other, except in the rare case of a sync drop. Groups trying to sync drop are depending on a matchmaking system that's fairly random, so it hardly ever works.

Sometimes my friends will try to sync drop, but we end up on opposite sides more often than the same side.

But...there are always these 2 or 3 people with green triangles over them. Who are they?

Green triangles are either your lance mates or some form of sentient plant-life....

I would have called them... I dunno actually, but green threw me for a second.... some shade of pale blue/green.... teal?

What if i told you the blue team is ALWAYS your team and the red team is ALWAYS the enemy team?

lol... I read that in the Morpheus (The Matrix) voice.

Thanks for the info on the team's lists populating at different speeds... I'd wondered about that. Maybe has to do with your team's list having more info in it?

"The Blues never sleep! They're too busy plotting to destroy our way of life. That's how you can always spot a Blue... They're always conniving and scheming. Sometimes they do both! I call that... schenniving!"

That said, you will ALWAYS be on the Blue team, because these colours are not static but dynamic to which team you are on. You may also notice that you are always on the Green Lance.

Na-uh! YOU will always be on the blue team!

I was wondering how the teams are made up, I notice the red teams seem to be teams and have full groups and blue will drop some times with 3 less. Also blue group is more of a PUG which everyone just running after kills while the red team seems to work together to win. Is there a difference in teams?

I honestly don't know if you're being sarcastic or not...

Srsously, I've heard there is a cheat that makes you drop in a RED team and win more often.

I occasionally see yellow and orange teams. I also might be drunk.

Also, you're on the blue team because you touch yourself. Yes: PGI sees that.

Ehm as i mentioned earlier: The blue team is always your team and the red team is always the enemy team. That is not because red team is premium players, premade groups etc. und you are a lone wolf stuck on the blue team, it's because the game is set this way. And guess what, for the enemys YOU are on the red team. I agree that matchmaking is not perfectly balanced atm. We will see if that changes when weight limits will be introduced.

So if I want be in good team I should to do small damage and be useless. Next time "Toster" will put me in a good team. And If I start to do good damage then program will select teamates with usless mechs.

Realy good idea to use such "Toster".

Your team is not starting out short on players.

For some reason, the names of the enemy players (red team) populate on the scoreboard very quickly at the start of a match, while your teammates' names take time to fill in. It's weird, and it may make it look like your team is short on players, but it's not. Press TAB to look at the scoreboard right after the 'Mech startup sequence and you'll see a full 12-man roster on both sides. Very very rarely will a team start short on players, and when it does happen it's because a 2-4 man group that dropped together had a player crash to desktop or disconnect.

I've also noticed that the enemy team tends to be in quasi-alphabetical order. I'm assuming it's all a matter of how the information gets to us from the server.

The enemy team Roster is randomized to keep you from seeing premades teams.

Well, not usually...

But, on Tuesday night (Oct 8th, 7:50pm, Eastern US time) I dropped into a game on Alpine Peaks where my side was short 3 players. As if that wasn't bad enough, another player disconnected. So, we were short 4 players by the time we engaged the enemy.

Why did we bother seeing it through to the end? Why did the other team not cut us any slack? Because if you've played very long, you've seen an outnumbered team win.

...Like we did. :D Posted Image
