Instead of linking towards their sales or facebook pages, they could link some of the really good guides the community had provided in the gameclient, but as it looks, they are sent by the devil to destroy the mechwarrior franchise.
I've got no other logical explaination left for their behavior.

Crytek developed Crysis 2 on a 20 million $ budget, I guess Piranha has at least half the budget.
And if I remember correct from the kingdom of amalur debakel, canada supports it's games industrie, ubisoft montreal doesn't exist there without a reason, let me assure you guys, in germany, where crytek is, we have zero support for the games industrie.

Ok, one advantage there is, a german developer, if the game is violent, can advert with "not only banned, even produced in germany!"

Crytek has some at least competent programmers and designers.

PGI has people that set their goals in destroying a frenchise for the gain of having an income for 3 years.
Or how else can you explain that guys with half the budget of someone who actually had to make the engine, the netcode and a game cannot even make a half as*ed Mech Deathmatch shooter with that engine?

So, how do you think it'll go?

15 days to:

Fix Hit Detection
Fix Map bugs
Deploy UI 2.0
Deploy Phase 1 of CW ?
Improve MM
Improve or Remove the embarrassing Zoom Module
Fix/Improve netcode
Fix/Improve crashes/performance

I foresee many rushed, broken patches being deployed over the next 2 weeks. I foresee it will be ugly. Dev's are locked in this time around, unlike the delay we managed to get prior to Open Beta's launch.

Pessimistic? Yep, you bet.

I foresee 3PV being left in game, as it is currently. (hate it BTW).

Discuss.

more interesting for me is the question, how would i call people giving them money, after they did dukes multiplayer part, before they had even a chance to try the game they are paying for?

Maybe Piranha will give us a big (well deserved) suprise and everyone is happy after release.

Just use their Wikipedia entry and look up every title they ever did in Metacritic.
I think their highest rated title yet is the MoH PSP thingy. It has 69 score.

Every single game title PGI ever made was bad. Why do you think they got no Publisher for their MW:5 with the Unreal engine for a long time but had to go the Crowdfunding way? Everyone out there knows that PGI is bad. I have given them a real chance. But what did they do? MWO Imploded faster than you can spell Implosion by bad decisions, a bad engine, and VERY BAD programming.

How well is it going to go?

A deathmatch game that has hit detection that can be described as 'iffy' on a GOOD DAY?

A game with devs that consistently lie to their community? (Two major examples: NO 3PV EVER! to 'uhhh... we're going to add 3pv because new guys are too stupid to know their legs and torso don't face the same direction at all times and we want to pander to these ******* idiots and **** you guys. 2nd example: Directly from the patch notes: 'reduced income to compensate for addition of 12vs12' and then in the anwered by the devs thing 'oh yeah we reduced cbill earning because you guys weren't grinding enough'.)

Game has pay2win mechs with better loadout options for paid mechs? The MISERY comes to mind. I own one. I'm pissed off about it.

Consistently terrible 'fixes', ranging from the laughable hit detection to ECM being good, and then useless. And then we have missiles being a rain of death or a light sprinkling of moisture on the top of your mech that might maybe hurt it after a thousand or so hits. Lasers are good. And then they're *****. PPC is good. And then it's *****. AC/2 is good. And then it's ninja-nerfed with phantom heat penalties.

There are just so many lies, so many issues, bugs, and outright PROBLEMS with the game that this thing feels like it's barely out of an alpha.

And hahahahahaha, you think they're going to add CLAN MECHS to this ***********? Those things are either going to be impossibly overpowered, OR so broken with arbitrary penalties that they're incapable of keeping up. PGI doesn't how to 'balance'.

So how do I think the launch is going to go?

I'm going to be laughing.

That metacritic score is going to PLUMMET. And the reviews won't be 'hey, this game in beta is kinda broken', the reviews are going to be 'stay the **** away from this game and its outright lies, broken game mechanics, and lack of promised features'.

I'm going to enjoy watching this thing crash and burn so much that I've bought popcorn.

And don't even get me started on what they'll 'fix' before release. When was the last time they actually 'fixed'? I'm pretty sure they could BREAK more ****.

I see everyone is busy sharpening their pitchforks, heating up the oil, and plucking the geese.

Business as usual in the Land of Forgotten Tears.
Carry on....

http://mwomercs.com/phoenix

almost up to stage 3. Given stage 1 was all PGI wanted to achieve, Phoenix pack is looking very good.

ui 2.0, CW and collisions & DFA finally in game is my expectations from now until x-mas given progress to date and the loss of time to cryengine bugs that is finally cleared up.

Fairly happy so far. A little slower progress than I would have liked, but that's ok - just have to enjoy the drops until then without CW.

ui 2.0 certainly looks very promising.

probably more trolls appearing as we gain more people. a small subsection always turns to trolling.

Project Phoenix has exceeded our wildest expectations in popularity, and we wanted to thank you for your support. As a token of our appreciation, we’re giving every Phoenix Project purchaser the phoenix paint colours unlocked for all of your Mechs!

In other words: Our product needs some more incentive to be bought in higher numbers, so we just packed some AWESOME STUFF ON TOP if you just buy enough of it.
Those staged sales are always made to provide an incentive to buy it in order to have the hope of it reaching the higher tiers. Its more or less the same mechanic as gambling. Why would they come up with a system that serves as an incentive to buy more of a product of which they already sold so many? Usually you come up with such a system in the first place or if the sales aren't going well. Once the car sales are bad you will notice that you suddenly get a whole lot of goodies packed on top, temporary price cuts and good financing models. I have yet to see a cars manufacturer that gives a lot of goodies and price cuts just because his sales are going that well.
Its the same system as about everyone uses on Kickstarter. And they aren't using it because they already sold so much but because they want to sell MORE.

I fail to read the: "OMG so many thanks guys! This is all the money we wanted to achieve so have a lot of free goodies because we love our community so much and wouldn't even have money to pay our bills without you! Cheers guys!"

The amount of hate I see in these forums, and in game, astounds me. Where do you get by insulting PGI and its devs? Nowhere. You just make yourself look like a jackass. Saying that "everyone out there knows that PGI is bad" is childish. Implying that the devs are incompetent is thankless and low.

MWO hasn't "imploded". I still see the lot of you online and playing, and I never have to wait long for a new match. Some bad decisions? Maybe so. But these men and women are doing their best to make a game for you to enjoy, that doesn't have to cost you a dime.

I see so many people chiming in, giving their two cents, and that's fine - after all, the devs need the feedback to improve the game. But then I see a bunch of idiots offering nothing but complaints and hate. This is not constructive, and it helps nobody! Not to mention the fact that most of these people, I'm sure, have NO programming experience, and NO experience in game development, which is a different animal altogether.

To these people, I say: You have no clue what is involved in creating something like this, especially when you tack on all the abuse these poor devs have to deal with every day. So please, be silent if you have nothing useful to say.

I have played many truly bad games. Mechwarrior Online doesn't even come close! There are bugs, yes, but I enjoy each and every match I play, and it keeps me coming back for more. I put up with the occasional crashes and freezes because I recognize that it's a work in progress. Most of you know I'm right, otherwise you wouldn't still be here. What we have here is a game in BETA, that is already good, and is only going to get better. So be patient with PGI, please, and show some class.

I'm looking forward to launch, and if they don't bring in all the features we want in a couple weeks, we'll get them soon after.

Sadly, I'm probably going to be attacked for this post. So go on, then. Do your worst, if it makes you feel better.
