If that system runs crysis at an acceptable level then you might be ok, if not then I think you are in strife.

12 vs 12 multiplayer battles, no way that gpu/cpu will keep up, mainly because it has to track 24 people, the terrain, even on min graphics thats alot of data to chew. 8800 was the min card for single player crysis 2 which had your hero and a handfull of ai targets tracked at any time.

do yourself a favor and upgrade, otherwise youll just be here next month crying about how your fossil pc cant run the game!

by the power of forty two i decree it!

I know specs are coming out soon i just want to see what yall think, would an AMD Anthlon II x2 with 3g Ram with an Nx8800GT with 512MB DDR3 Run MWO at a decent frame rate to play?

loaking at the VGA hierarchy chart I would say you could play the game, but with resolutions at (perhaps) 1600 x 1024 ?
Disable anti virus, Other windows eyecandy things, etc shadows, etc will speed things up. Disable a few things because you have 3 GB memory. Some OS use more or less RAM, that's important as well.

.... so, no problem there....

pc gaming rule of thumb 42: if you want enjoyable frames per second at decent resolution in playable online games, then your hardware shouldnt be more then 2-3 years old, and on the high end from its time.

obey rule 42!

8800 gt is crap, i got rid of my 8800 era pc over a year ago and it had 2 8800 gtx in sli, it couldnt run mwll anywhere near good enough with decent settings/res/enjoyable framerate in online play. it also had a 3 ghz dual core and 4 gigs ram, the new rig i replaced it with has a 3.6 ghz quad i7 12 gigs ram and 2 radeon hd 6790s in crossfire, factor in my intel 120 gig ssd and i dont load time nothin, i just play and pwn!

upgrade the RAM to 4gb (ram is cheap) , and you have nearly the same spec as me, and that is halfway between minimum and recommended for crysis 2, so i think MWO will run okay, if you are not a gfx-junkie ;)

i for my part will switch my gf 9500gt (512) for a better 1gb gfx card, but thats all till end of the year i think

how well does Crysis 2 run on your pc? I also currently have an Athlon II x2 cpu with 4 gb ram and a 5750 1gb graphics card, and can get a good average of about 45FPS on crysis 2 (cryotec 3 engine).

(must get a new motherboard so i can start useing my quad core again :D )

i ran around 25 to 30 frames of all low

I'd recommend saving for an upgrade. If nothing else go 4GB of mem, see if your mobo will let you ebay a Phenom in there and grab a GTX 560 Ti since they're dropping in price(they can be fished off ebay for cheap to so long as you are careful with your buying).

I try to run a 3-4yr cycle for upgrades.

*@ Lord*
I <3 mah i7. It sounds like were running a similar setup except I have the Mushkin 120 SSD and 2x GTX 470's.

This is possibly the laptop they featured MW:O on:
http://store.razerzo...goryId.56404900

Looking at the specs for the laptop and considering the game settings are probably at least at a "high" or "ultra" and CryEngine 3's scale-ability... we should be OK with 4 or so year old PCs. That's about what mine is and I run decent on Tribes: Ascend (different engine and game, yes but should be a fair enough comparison)

This is also just a quick glance and loose comparison of my PC, the possible laptop, and my experience with another top tier engine's scale-ability. I'm sure others with more passion to be sure or just to be a friendly tech'er will cross reference these and more details.

i can run tribes ascend really good dude.

yep, thats what I was thinking.

dont feel bad. i'd venture I'll be running it at 'medium' specs at best. apparantly my q6660 is getting dated as well :-/

Q6600 should be fine games are graphics card dependent, worst comes to worst overclock that processor its plenty fast. My phenom II X3 runs BF3 almost as well as my Core i7 2600k

Yeah my Q6600 is like a russian AK. Dirt cheap, rugged and gets the job done. I love that damn thing =)

If you crank down the settings, you will probably get a manageable framerate. It won't look real pretty, but at least you can play. I am definitely going to be investing in some upgrades to get the most out of this engine, and my specs are very similar to yours except i run a 9800GTS with 1GB on-board. The 9800 is basically a glorified 8800, tho, for all intents and purposes.
