Players "were earning too much" (i.e. having too much fun) playing the game before. Can't have that, can we? Much better to draw out the fun to become as tedious as possible.
It should take months to afford a Kintaro (even though the 3D modellers and balance designers slapped it together in a couple of hours the day before it came out).
Our time is worthless compared to that of PGI employees. That's why they're not reading this thread at the moment.

There are plenty of new players. I get at least four on my team every night, sometimes six or eight. The MatchMaker assigns them to my team because it thinks a half dozen good players can help six noobs win against 12 competent players in premades (which is rarely true).

And when you've heard from the diehard 'Mechwarrior fans that they want to quit, you know there's a problem.

the ones who came here as soon as 3pv was released and were making those record player retention numbers after just 1 week of data had been collected, duh!

The neat thing is - the new Recruit system kinda avoids this issue, doesn't it? If it wasn't his "real" account, then he would have had to play 25 games to be able to post here. That's a bit too much effort just to be able to pretend to be a newbie. O
Of course, conspiracy theorist will still say that the cabal of PGI haters will stop at nothing to destroy this game or PGI's reputation.
But more realistically, the post is genuine.
On the other hand, conspiracy theorists said that the NSA was wiretapping and listening in on everything... So I dunno anymore.

They will also open the floodgates to all the reviews that have so far been lenient because MWO was in "beta".
And as for the new player experience and the economy model there's just one word i would use to describe it: abhorrent.
I have so far spent $160 on MWO and i do not really regret it as i am a huge battletech fan and have spent many enjoyable hours playing the game, but even i cant deny that if PGI does not get their act together the future is looking very bleak for MWO.

As for the fact that there is only two modes, they are working on it and there is no point in complaining about it, it won't make anything happen any faster.

PGI nerfed the CBills, made it harder to get new Mechs... but did not add any new reason to keep playing.

I think what makes a lot of new players sour is the fact they have to play the same mech over and over for hundreds of games before they can fully load out the next. Now you could expect them to buy a premium account, but why would they do this in good faith when they've had such a frustrating experience up to then (don't get me started on those terrible trial mechs either, I hated those things so much).
You need to give more freebies to start the ball rolling, so people get invested in the game (time wise) and are more likely to spend (because they are enjoying what they have, but they still could get more toys). I think the problem is made worse with the elite skill system where you need 3 of the same chassis, you might only want to play one variant, but alas you have to grind out the c-bills/games to upgrade your primary mech.

Actually, he is bothered by the game, and not the forums, meaning he didn't come to the forums to express his opinion just because he was having fun.
Your request has been denied, try again next time.
Anyway, OP is the vocal minority now. His boat is waiting at dock 47.

If you were under the impression that MWO is a finished product then sure i'd say it wasn't a very well made game. But understanding that its a huge work in progress and that things will be worked out over time makes the highs and lows easily bearable
