It does seem a bit squishy for whatever reason.

ok i have found an issue, had low front ct armour so moved my back to the target to allow me to move a better postion, got hit in the back but the dmg transfered to my front ct.

Is that a fire extinguisher ??? The Camo is very underwhelming. Other mechs like Fang/Flame and Yen-Lo have a more signature pattern, but the protector's very... meh, whatever, just another combination of colours. The chassis is a lot more thinner than i expected... From the art work i was expecting something as large as the Victor. I suppose that's a good thing

This is easily my worst hero by a big margin until now. I remember doing 500+ damage with my Heavy Metal without any modifications right after purchasing it. But the Protector? 75t Mechs should be the best mixture of heavies and assaults, but in this thing I struggle to do more damage than with my SDR-5V when leveling Spiders.

Part of the problem is easily that BIG center torso which works like a damage magnet. This makes XL engines very usable, but which in turn costs the ability to mount double UACs or an AC20, rendering the second ballistic hardpoint useless. On top of this, the Atlas-like hardpoints require targets to be on a comparable height level. Man did I struggle on Terra Therma yesterday.

Hopefully the CT gets fixed like the Kintaro's. Otherwise this will probably become my most overpriced unused mech

Still struggling to find the right spot for him. Ran a full-brawl loadout at first with SRM6x2, AC20 and twin-ML, but like all pure brawler builds, it only functions when teammates are competent. Now I run a XL325 Gauss+LRM10x2+twinML build.

I like it overall.

Same issue 17 matches all center torso core kills on me. Sometimes it was the only torso hit. Big waste of my money PGI I am very pissed. My first complaint here ever.

Works great, the only issue i have is the paint is more red-ish than the orange on the promo sale image...

No really, it annoys the shhiznit out of me how different those colours are. I find the mech itself great though.

Hmmm.... I am not having the same experience. While all my deaths are to CT (Engine destroyed) It does not feel overly fragile. In 38 drops I have 37 kills, 14 deaths. Has lots of HP on that CT! Run an XL and get her movin'!

I agree in 82 matches (all pug) i have 82 kills and 50 deaths, i don't run an XL but that's more to do with me running with the ac/20, it's a nice mech but as i mentioned before i have noticed some dmg transfer to front CT when shot in the back.

Fix the CT like you did the Kintaro and this mech will be a beast!!!. Dishes out good damage but goes down with a couple of good hits to the gut regardless of engine type.

Really like the weapon hardpoints, gives a great deal of flexibility in the build. Looks pretty cool too. Way, way too squishy CT though. Huge CT hitbox, shifting the majority armor forward has done nothing for survivability - this mech is a wet paper bag waiting to get shredded. I've yet to have a good game in this thing, despite trying a bunch of different loadouts that should at least provide results comparable to medium mechs or smaller heavies with similar packages. For some reason the hero mech just blows up easily, the Pinto of mechs.

Really ?? go look the cataphract (only 70 t) or the 80 t, the chassis and the ct are much larger

When I saw the Protector I was elated, I purchased MC and the mech. My elation has now become utter regret as any single mech can take out 81 points of CENTER TORSO ARMOR, not rear but center, to nothing and destroy my mech. Without fail, this has been quite repeated-able. I've been pretty vocal about it because I do not understand how QA MISSED THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. I like the mech's look, its hard point selection and layout, maybe not its hero mech paint scheme but the center torso melting as it does.... it needs serious review.

My current expectations, having bought the Phoenix and Sabre packages, is that those will be treated in the same lack luster QA as your last two releases.

Hopefully others get vocal about this mech, it's unacceptable.
