Seriously, stop b!tch!ng around and enjoy the time you still have until this thing goes open beta.Closed betas are closed betas, anyone who gets in is chosen randomly, the devs already said that, but you still need to have completed that profiling thing with your PC.They can't just invite everyone to the beta, the game is probably not even in an enjoyable state on the servers with lagging and such. They're not doing this just to annoy you, it's for the sake of everyone who will play this game.

Typical gut check response to the OP. The standard "stop thinking" and go frolic with nature fare. So all closed betas are the same? How random is it with most of the beta population could be said to have joined within the same week? Stats gonna show that, they have to, since population exploded in one week. How do you KNOW if they can or cannot invite everyone to beta? Because you were TOLD so? That isn't knowing anything except that you have assumed a rumor is true. Unless you know it first hand, you are just adding to the rumor mill. We got power trolled! Most of you are in denial and afraid to upset the applecart. "You upset me for having to re-examine half baked notions and scare me with the thought that I might be wrong" is all I am hearing from posts like these.

This game is free to play. That changes alot when it comes to the rules of "beta" and "release"...Since you don't EVER have to spend a SINGLE PENNY to play, I do believe you're not entitled to ANYTHING.

OP is uneducated dude who does not understand "lottery"

Why are hundreds of others privledged enough to participate while I am not? I am no better or no worse than any other person interested in your game. No qualifications have ever been posted for the Beta, so I have to assume everyone that can run the game qualifies. This is not the way to welcome the community to your game, this is anything BUT welcoming. Its incredibly annoying actually.

This is like opening an ice cream store, inviting everyone in and then giving some free ice cream while the others who didnt get any have to sit and watch. The funny part is then you ask those that were made to sit and watch others get preferential treatment to buy the product.

Both paragraphs are wrong, everyone throws their name in the pot and its chosen at random. You invite people to participate, but you cannot give away everything otherwise there is no lottery. Thats like having everyone buying lottery tickets and then everyone wins...a little bit instead of one big pot. :)

I suppose some will respond that this is the nature of a Beta, which my response would be wake up and smell the coffee. Times have changed. There are F2P games, and crazy good ones, around every corner. The smart ones don't upset the customers just before launch..especially if they want them to buy. I've been part of both the World of Warplanes Alpha, AND Guild Wars 2 Beta. Did I just get "lucky"? Or are there ways to run Betas so that its clear cut who gets in and why ...not some random sillyness that serves to upset people and went out with WOW subscriptions

lol-warplanes. Wargaming is a terrible company when it comes to business, everything they have done is to "encourage" you to throw money away from that crappy matchmaker putting crappy tanks up against tanks they can't pen requiring you to pay premium for extended lengths of time to offering $.10 cent individual shell gold rounds to counter thicker armor while driving those crappy tanks (instead of say...1000 rounds for a dollar). WG basicly takes a small budget , turns it around and makes 10x that much with a low quality product that people throw out high quanity amounts of cash (like buying water at the super market, 1 bottled gallon for a dollar or go buy a filter device for $30 that can produce hundreds of gallons before it needs to be changed...which is the better deal? WG is the bottle BTW, you spend more for less). I am willing to spend money on F2P games, but damn if I won't pay for a low quality product that puts biased handicapped tanks (Sherman, PzIV, KV-1) up against other tanks with 3x the hitpoints that nearly 1 shot them everytime and 9/10 matches have top tier tanks all day...guys on the top have it easy mode when they stomp them and then get to gloat how easy it is...would love to see these 59% dudes take a platoon of tier 1 tanks up against a T-54 driven by a skillless newb, yeah the T-54 will win by the skill less driver since the tier 1 tanks suck *** in comparison.

How do you call that? Maybe "self-trolling?
Anyway, just forget about the closet beta and enjoy the open-beta once it is out.

See, i am the best beta-tester who was, is and will be and i still have no invite. If i can wait, so can you.

It's about getting jerked around. So tell me, ET, in your LONG two day experience with MWO you have come to the conclusion that everyone else is entitled to your opinion, really?. How philanthropic of you! Ok, for the sake of argument I'm entitled. Now objectively quantify that I am not. See if you can refrain from "i believe", "imho", etc. and throw something substantial on the table worth double downing on. I'm a fairly accomplished troll when I want to be. Recognising it in both intentional and accidental forms is not a stretch at all. This BETA job was a troll.

Pardon me while I go ahead now and start the victory dance now. Might want to clear the area, I tend to spike in the End Zone.

Oh mate I'm with you exactly, I have played nearly all the previous games and anything similar but finally the dream is coming and so close but it's almost unbearable now and my heart almost literally sinks when I don't get an invite. I have no idea when this is coming out except summer time.....great?! They should just make it open already it's not fair that people are playing who aren't as bigger fans or as devoted!....way of the world I geuss.

Heck I have played BT since 85 and played all the mech games so should I get into the beta? No it's the luck of the draw and like you all I will wait.
Are we being jerked around? heck no, they have been clever with the pending thing because it just makes us check the site more often.
We will all get to play soon enough so just chill out and stop throwing dummies from your prams.
I know the wait is killing us and we all want to blame someone for not getting into the closed beta so if you feel that you are a victim I suggest you take a break from the forums.
Not flaming just get a grip we can't all be beta testers.

This. Makes so much more sense than "The devs are scheming ****** who are deliberately shafting everyone out of the beta and we shouldn't believe anything they say ever about the status of the closed beta", which is all I'm getting from posts like

objectively quantify

First of all, where do you get "Two day"? I've been playing BT since 1991, being that I was only born in 1987.

I don't need to point out why anyone should or shouldn't get anything. You're the one complaining about not getting into something that you were never promised, or even told you'd get into. But for the sake of argument, fine.

What have you done to help the developers in any sense, beyond complaining? Have you donated code, donated money or time? Have you put forth constructive progression or negativity? Being "Entitled" to something, according to websters dictionary, is "to furnish with proper grounds for seeking or claiming something <this ticket entitles the bearer to free admission>". Have the developers given you any such item or contract? Negative sir.

Hows that?

Eh don't you mean we're not?

I dare ask how old you are?

Developers are dammed if they do dammed if they don't. I have an idea, they should give beta testing access to no one, remove access now and stop giving out keys. That is how parents do it with their spoilt brats, maybe the developers should take the same approach with their spoil brats too. Take away all privilages for everyone, because a few spoiled it for the others.

Put your name on a post saying, 'Sorry everyone, Poundcake complained and we're not here to be spoken to like this we are only doing our job. So as punishment your all getting your beta access removed, you know who to blame'. ;)

That would be the funniest thing in 2012! That is collective punishment Army style, real world style, discipline the kids style.

How about they stop communicating altogether. I bet you would be the first person in the forum to then complain that the developers don't communicate and update us enough

Closed beta sucks. It feels like instead of ninty-nine percent of those who don't get picked are actually the one percent who don't. Also that tease that basically went "Four people are getting picked for beta right now... Just kidding! Actually 500 more are. But, still, you're not going to be one of them."

It is for a reason though. If the people complaining took a moment to stop thinking about themselves and considered that the developers are highly educated professionals who know what they are doing. If they also considered that all this work and development is to created a great service.

Then with a little faith anyone with a bacon rasher for a brain would trust it is being handled how it MUST be handled.

Sometimes? There are half a dozen times daily from new posts, and each of those gathers another half dozen people who either claim the dec's are lying about an alien conspiracy with the false beta, or worse, that they too are entitled to beta access and it's a crime againt humanity to continue denying them this basic right.

I think whats annoying some of the long time members here is that if you were member 500 , or 5000 you get a little bit miffed at the idea of some johnny come lately having the same statistical chance as you getting into the closed beta. I know I signed up day one but c'est la vie. Is there a way to see what member number you are?just out of curiosity.?
