Dude, as long as you are "PENDING" you are still in the race to get one, just think of it as the Ultimate ECM pack and you are quietly waiting for your chance to pounce. Also remember the BETA TESTING is simply to find out what bugs are in the game so think of it as a JOB. If all you did was go on and play and not search for weaknesses and bugs and then report them you would not be doing your job and it would be a waisted position with the BETA.

Personally I would like to get in on the BETA .... BUT.... I am more excited for the actual game release so that I can actually play and not have to keep notes and fill out reports and forums after each battle. (This is an assumtion on my part as other games have opened a report sheet with questions to be answered after each round, event or quest was completed. I have no idea if this is how MW:O is going about their reporting in Beta) If you are really dieing to play you can do what many of us are doing, although quietly, you can load MW4; MERCS on your Vitrual Windows XP and set it to First Person View and then play through the missions and champion in the arena. If nothing else it lets you get used to the first person view and even test a few loadouts on different sized mechs.

Besides that, IF you get into BETA, you will be doing a JOB for PGI, not just playing a game. PGI and the rest of the player base out here are counting on you to do that job and do it well so we can have the best and most polished game possible on launch. Everyone needs to think about that before they just up and vent and tell the world just how tired they are of waiting and just how unfair they feel they are being treated. Beta Testing is not meant to be fun, it's meant to be a JOB whos reward is a great game at launch.

Everyone feeling slighted needs to recalibrate their Headspacing and Timing (Give their head a shake) and just accept it as it is. If it happens it will happen when it does, at the latest (so far) it will be the 17th of July.

Just do what i do and tape a piece if paper over your monitor where the " pending" shows up so that you can't see it.

Like many here Im excited and googley eyed over the prosepcts of this game but to be honest this whole Beta thing is starting to put a damper on my experience. I cant help but feel slighted every time I see that hundreds of invites went out just to open my email to nothing, or log in to see the insanity of the PENDING flag as if it were burned into my screen mocking me....

i will agree on this article since this is a random pickup for keys is just not right. anyone here who played World of tanks from start knows that WOT was open to download for all and play in "CLOSED" Beta and the outcoe was on the Day it was relased the game made its first world record of highest players online at one server about 90,000 probably second was even bigger. so i will say F2P dev should see how others got Traction since these titles are alwyas hardest to learn when you get straight in a fight which is full of all kind of team casual , noobs and pros, this close beta is thing of past now

Yeah, it wasn't CBT, it was Open Beta. Try to get in World of Warplanes CBT! Closed Beta means Closed. It will be open beta period as well to test out server stability and etc. So calm down and wait couple more weeks.

WoT beta, modern warfare beta, minecraft beta, farming simulator beta all have the same thing in common: they have nothing to do with MWO and any comparison in regards to beta is hollow.

I agree.

I'm finding it amazing that in this day and age people just don't get it. Open beta testing might happen still, but it will happen when it is right for them not under the pressure of needy players.

Thing of the past, says someone who must be a University educated developer with a Phd I assume.

Do you know that any game with open beta, HAD A CLOSED BETA, they just never told you about it or anyone else. That is what happens in that case. To avoid this crap.

Well heck, Mists of Panderia, Diablo 3, and Starcraft 2 all had Betas, I was in them? Blizzard must be doing something terribly wrong. They're even having the Heart of the Swarm beta this summer.

You seem to have a few misconceptions.

• You do not know whether you are eligible to participate in the beta, based on your beta profile.
  
• The number of participants in the beta is limited.
  
• New players that are granted access to the beta are chosen at random from the pool of eligible players.

Sorry OP I am awaiting a beta invite as most people are but you need to have some patience. Just by you posting material like this do you honestly think the developers want you testing out their game? They want people who will take the time, be patient and find errors and not post some complaint or flame telling them how their game is broken ..... IN BETA.

Have some patience man .. the time will come.

C'mon I tried to get Beta on World of Warplanes - didnt ... but hey nevermind, still wanted in on this Beta too - then my 18 year old son got a Beta, ahh well ... will get it soon as its out.

Very very good point.

Fact is. The game is other peoples property, a company, they have the right to do whatever they like for the good of the service they are going to provide. They could reject people for such impatience, they probably need patient people interested in testing.

It is obvious to me these impatient players just want to play, take early screenshots and videos possibly for their own use.

The problem I have with most of the ongoing beta key complaints is that I feel, a person really would need to have paid for the service/product to have any right or notion of making complaints. If i was to put that in another way, harsher maybe, I could say 'who the hell do they think they are?'

It's like wanting to buy a brand new model of sports car, $40,000 price tag then demanding you get to be the crash dummy for official saftey tests simply because your hobby is cars, the price is a big number and you plan to buy one the new model. Go for it trolls, please do
