My Stalker now looks like a squirrel on speed (or simiar drugs).
I would also prefer to get a rollback on Heavy and Assault or they should really tweak this more ...

The new animations look ridiculous. I want to feel I'm driving a giant walking tank, not a 30 cm tall toy robot.
Should be easy enough to change them back.

They need to add a proper run cycle animation...not just speed up the walk cycle.

Yes, it does seem VERY awkward. It takes away immersion since I feel like im in some twinkle-toed war machine that shoots rainbows.
Instead of increasing animation speed, I would suggest increasing stride length to correspond with engine rating instead. The physics don't agree with it, no vehicle that size would move like that (maybe lights), especially the assault classes.
I think I speak for most people when I say no one wants their 100-ton mech to feel like a ballerina.

While I think the intention was to make the mechs feel more nimble and the game more fast paced (like some other products in the market), it makes it not feel as much like mechs anymore. I completely agree - mechs should be (in general) big and stompy. My Victor was running around like a marathon runner and my Kintaro with the big engine was prancing about with a rather distracting and bouncing cockpit.
I'll add my voice to the others - please return the old animations and not the faster paced ones. It's not a good fit.

What really worries me is that the mech animation started as absolutely perfect and have got worse. The leg/foot kinematics we lost in beta were a real loss and a proper immersion breaker, and this new animation speed is just silly.
I had a friend coming over tonight and I was trying to "sell" him getting into MWO and the animation speed and film grain was just embarrassing, no sale to him =-(
What I really can't fathom is that DirectX11, CW, Tutorials etc are desperately needed for launch or the reviewers are going to TEAR this game apart, and someone is wasting time making mechs move like this. What kind of project management is going on here !

1. Why did they do this?
2. Why is there no info in the patchnotes?
3. Why is there no answer from the Devs?
No more stompy stompy makes me a sad panda.

I agree these new animation are awful.
The more they patch this game, the more I end up thinking : wtf are they doing ?

It looks silly and comical (in a sad way) watching an assault mech's legs moving so fast. Moving too fast. Too awkward. Oh god.

I also do not like the new mech movement animations. To me it seems they just took the original animation and then sped it up by x2 or x3 and slapped into the game. It makes watching mechs move around the landscape just look stupid. It breaks what little immersion the game has for me.

Ah I'm relieved...I found this with search. And here I thought I'm the only one with a weird animation bug. I thought it was a bug that I now ran twice as fast.
Don't like it at all the movement speed before was fine.

No, you aren't. We are vocal minority. And, quite possibly, not target demographic of this game.
