Simple Trick.

Let the UAC5 start with ROF of the AC5. Hold down the trigger and it will get Faster after every shot. (Just a little). There ist a bar that rises over time to a specified point. If the point is reached. The weapons jams for a few seconds. That´s beacause of heat which is generated through the the long fire period. Stop shooting, the bar gets down.

-> better than the ac5 not overpowered and still usefull in pairs and single. And without a macro

I'm not sure this idea would work in practice but it's a cool one. I like people who think outside the box.

I use a 3x UAC/5 Ilya build and it rocks. But you know what I DONT do? I don't go running out into the open so everyone, esp. the 3x UAC boat can rip me the shreds. In a very good game I have done 1200+dmg. In a bad game, I've done 60. And no, I have never used a marco in my life.

A weapon only shoots things. Its the pilot behind the controls who decides how long it lives.

Learn to pilot your mech and even a 3x UAC boat isn't of much use. Stop blaming the game for everything that happens and start looking in the mirror. I'll be damned if I'm going to let this game become WOW online simply because whiners like you think they should kill everything in a few shots and own the world and be able to tank 12 mechs shooting them!
If you are truly that bad of a pilot, I might suggest a different game if you aren't willing to put the effort in to become better.

I love how this post is a thing no matter what the current meta is. "Lol my splatcat isn't OP, SRMs are fine! L2P" "Lol, my PPC/Gauss Poptart isn't OP, it's fine! L2P!"

Same ole rationalizing no matter what.

why do i get the feeling that all the people defending the UAC5 are the same people that exploited the Gausscat in CB, the Streakcat before ECM, the Splatcat and RVN-3L/AS7-D-DC after ECM, the PPC stalker after the SRM nerf, the CTF-3D/HGN-732 poptart after ghost heat, and now the 3x UAC5 loadouts...

Because you want to believe that the only way someone could defend something you view as overpowered is if they have a vested interest in it by way of personal exploitation?

I didn't start playing until Open Beta. I've never used a GaussCat (though I tried the AC40Cat in all of 2 drops, slow as all hell, couldn't stand it).

Never tried a StreakCat back in the day (tried it once recently, didn't like it). Tried the Splat/36SRM Cat, didn't like it.

Never owned a Raven, and didn't think there was much wrong with it because the posts with good analysis of the problem got lost in the sea of whiners.

Never had a problem with the D-DC, I own one, but have used it very little.

Never owned a Stalker, and honestly, the multiple PPC Stalkers were kinda's funny. Yeah, they were powerful, but overheated like mad.

I was never much one for poptarting (only tried it when I was in a position that I was going to get shot to bits if I exposed myself), and the only jump jet capable mechs I owned before reticule shake was added were a 733, 733P, and 733C.

I think the way PPCs are now is fine. I'd rather see the reduced damage under range brought back, but I don't get my bottom in a knot over it. The Gauss either needs to go back, have the charge last longer, or be given the ability to hold the charge (possibly with a heat penalty).

The UAC5 did not need a reduction in jam rate, but I think it being utilized as is now is a direct response to other weapons not being good options.

Honestly, the MWO community is a bunch of fickle mushheads. Every whiner moaned to the heavens about the brawl-centric meta, then we got bigger maps and PPCs got heat reductions. Suddenly the community whines about the jump-snipe meta. Jump jets get nerfed. Whines about the non-jump sniper meta. PPCs and Gauss get nerfed. People move to the next most effective weapon: the UAC5. More whining.

There's no making you happy. None.
