Hey- how about incorporating "car horns" into the mechs as a purchaseable cockpit item.

The generic and simple "Honk" could be bought with C-bills, and for those wanting to "**** their ride" you could offer more elaborate car horns such as the one from the General Lee (think Dukes of Hazard), or other fancy car horns for MC.

Which bring us to your first question-- Why?

EASY-- we are finding more and more often that with 12 mechs it's very easy to get in a traffic jam situation where 2 full lances are all trying to enter a lane at the same time. Or there is that one annoying Catapult that keeps entering your line of fire or stopped right in front of you. For those of you not in little, fast mechs or who don't have jump jets-- How do you kindly tell him to please step to the side? Right now-- you don't. Or, you take your hands off the controls and type out some sort of manic request in team chat.

But really... who has time for that?!? BUT---if you could simply press a key and "honk your horn" to say, "hey buddy, move it or lose it!", they'd go, "huh? Ohhhh...so that's where our Atlas went to. He's BEHIND me. Sorry! moving out of the way!"

Welcome to the age of everyone just blaring their horns at you for fun.

EXACTLY. Key words here are "for fun". It'll be amusing. I think one of the Mech Warrior games in the past had it, and I was most amused by it. But here it would actually be useful. "Move yer metal butt! Nine of us can't all fit on this ramp at once if the Stalker stops in the middle!"

I'm also hoping the added side benefit is that this will give the trigger happy idiots who feel the need to fire off their weapons at the start of the game as everyone leaves the base something OTHER to do, that doesn't potentially cause you to lose armor. I'll take a horn over a few medium lasers to the back ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!

It's unnecessary, unwanted by the playerbase, and inconsequential to the core game.

We can therefore be confident that it will be implemented before Community Warfare.

Can my Mech horn play La Cucaracha? And while we're at it, can my Mech have 22' spinning rims, and hydrolics?

I kindly tell them to get out of my line of fire with an A/C 20 shell- if I've been clearly firing (lasers and suchlike that show someone is firing) and a friendly move in the way to get a hit on/kill, he deserves a shot in the back.

I want massive vuvuzelas sticking out from the side of my atlas like ears. I'd paint it green and call it the Shrek Mech.

I wouldn't mind one of those Inception-esque shrieking warsirens like the 'mech things in Pacific Rim had. Supposedly the titans in WH40k had the same kinda thing. "Hey, look, I'm over here! BLAAARRRT!"

Even if it had a cooldown of a few mintues, imagine coming out of the ice cave on frozen city and scaring the hell out of somebody by coming up behind them and blaring that while alpha-ing them in the back? A golden moment before his buddies turn around and zap you.
