I agree with the OP. Spider 5K's and Raven 4X's are running roughshod over the game right now.

Raven 4X's ? Please tell me you're just kidding.

You take that Raven 4X and go on mayhem and you'll see how good is he.
That variant is limited to XL245 engine max and top speed is 114ish. Jump jets won't bring you advantage like with Spider or Jenner. MGs ? Almost useless since there's no speed to get in and out quickly. And the most important thing - it has leg hitboxes the size of an airplane carrier. It's easier to hit than miss.

There's these things called medium mechs. If you make friends with some they can keep your assault safe from lights, while you keep their mediums safe from enemy heavy and assault mechs. There's this concept called teamwork where you make friends by not whining about things, and then you get buddies that prevent anything from being terribly op by forming a balanced posse. And then you dunk.

Atlas can lose to 2 good scouts, but i think it should be so. Atlas without support is stupid atlas :). I often die without support but i don't blame the game balance for it, i blame my stupidity.

If you got 2 atlas and 4 scouts, and atlases lose, then you can blame the another atlas or yourself. Scouts are good destroying singled out enemies, but they tend to lose quickly if there are few mechs against them. You just need firepower and good hit to leg and the scout is history.

I think the balance is quite good at the moment, if i'm with few mechs, i have nothing to fear from scouts, if i am alone, 2-3 scouts will make mince meat out of assault quickly. In that situation i usually just try to leg 1 or 2 before i die, scout with 1 leg is dead scout. I get my revenge beyond grave.
