It might not be you. I am getting a problem with logging in, and having a "Session Lost" message come up on the past several attempts this morning. I don't know if there is a problem on my end, on their end, or somewhere between.

Do you have all the supporting software installed?

** 1) .NET: http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=17851
** 2) C++: http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=5555
** 3) dx9: http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=8109

First, remember that if you have been playing MWO, the necessary dx 9c modules have been installed.

The issue with the newer version message when trying to run the dxwebsetup again is that is related to the directx 9c itself. At the moment you may have downloaded an older version of the directx 9c (dxwebsetup.exe). the Dxwebsetup does not update itself. Utilize the above link. It is the entire dx 9c package. Download it, double click on it to get it started in unpacking it, ie download/directx 9c then run the setup.exe from the unpacked location. I use this when I want to ensure that any possible corrupted dx 9c files are being overwritten.

Also if you could post your dxdag it would help us figure out what is going on.
** To access it, press the Windows key + R, type Dxdiag and press Enter. Save all information locally

I am also having this exact problem. It occurred immediately after exiting a game (via the escape menu from a running game). Everything is up to date, I've reinstalled the game twice now to no avail. Obviously I've done the usual reinstall drivers, etc.

I can't fathom what is causing it either, nothing changed on my end from one run to the next. I did notice, however, upon my second reinstall, I had an error log from Omicron. The error code is:

[Error] NVAPI: Unable to get SLI state (-113)

Also of note: I ran the repair tool, and it detected no corruption. I also used all of the checkmarked options to restore settings to their defaults.

Anyway, if I can't fix it myself, I'll contact support.

Well, I reinstalled the game as admin, in a different location, and the game ran once (for an hour or so). The next time I closed it, I suffered from the same problem again. It will not launch at all.

I am on metered ADSL here so I literally can't afford to keep reinstalling it over and over again.

No, it's not a network problem (checked that first). Besides, that wouldn't account for why it stopped working at random after being stable for two weeks. I don't run any third-party anti-virus/anti-malware.

The problem is definitely related to that error in renderer initialisation, but I can't figure what is being set/unset/corrupted between runs that could be causing this sort of problem. I've combed registry, AppData et al for clues, but without knowing what the game does at the OS level when it installs there isn't much I can do.

I have just tried a third reinstall, following the exact procedure that worked before, and it has had no effect. I've tested every other high-end game (including Crysis 3, which I can run on ultra with no issues) I have, and all of them seem to be fine.

If only it used a proper incremental downloader, I could attack this properly. As it stands I have to download the entire 2.7Gb every time, which takes 20-30 minutes.

It's especially frustrating seeing as how I convinced a couple of my friends to play too, and they are really enjoying it so far.

UPDATE:

Incidentally, I tried a reboot as a last-ditch effort after making this post. And now the game launches again. For now, I can just leave it running to enjoy my internet robo-shoots. Makes me wonder if it isn't something ephemeral that is being cleared or restored between reboots.

What are your system specs? What OS are you running? do you have the game installed on a SSD, People have had issues with the game installed on a ssd?

I've also seen hard drives going south cause random issues with different software, one or two bad sectors can cause massive problems. I had this happen with my wife's laptop, windows update would crash and {Scrap} out every time replacing the hard drive solved the problem. have you tried running a check disk / error checking. If you end up replacing the hard drive most manufactures have software on the websites that you can down load for free that allow you to clone the old drive to the new, so you don't need to re-install every thing.
