Should there be different size gyros much like engines? Im not talking about XL Gyros (they come out in 3067) but the rating (100 - 400 doesnt have to be this many though). The larger the gyro the more agile, faster stopping, and faster turning (not twisting). Perhaps if collition/knockdown shows back up it can help with that. The larger the rating the heavier it could be or just costs more. Besides it would be another thing to sink CBills into and PGI would like that.

i like it, adds very diversity and more strategy to the game.

I have to disagree with this idea. The whole point of knockdown is to make you pay attention to how you pilot your mech. If you give players the option of better gyros that prevent knockdown, it defeats the whole purpose of having knockdown.

true, but weren't there options to upgrade to more advanced gyros in battletech to help prevent your mech from being knocked down?

yes but light mechs werent borderline overpowered in battletech. knockdown is required in mwo to balance out the fact light mechs are so hard to hit.

There are different rated gyros. The Gyro's weight determined by the engine's rating. All engines above 250 are heavier than TT values. This extra weight is really ghosted gyro weight.
There are also different types of gyros, compact and light. Compact gyros are heavier and use less critical slots, while light gyros weigh less and use more. However the tech level that those gyros come into play are years ahead of were PGI wants MWO to be at this time.

I agree in principle, especially with the faster stopping and turning side of things; but I also agree with Khobai in that it shouldn't prevent knockdown in light units.

edited answers. I was thinking of it more for agile and diversity then for knockdown.
