Hey all, having some issues finding the effects of this in game, can someone break it down for me? Is it worth the weight and credits?

There was a dev post that explains a ton of little things like this, included all the interactions between Tag, NARC and Artemis....

It increases your sensor range and lets you counter one ECM within 180m of your mech.

In short, if you have streaks or LRM's it is worth it. If you don't, it isn't.

Pretty much this. Could also be useful if you have the tonnage to spare in a light spotter/scout mech.

Pretty much the main reason to take it is if you use streaks as it bursts the ecm bubble at close ranges, other wise not really needed.

Ok what no one has mentioned is that it also gives you the detailed target information 25% quicker... So pop on a 25% module and you get target info 50% quicker, thus popping that red side torso that much quicker killing XL engined mechs and so fourth. I take BAP on almost everybuild and always over AMS.

oh ya and 25% more range on your sensors so 1250M i believe

BAP also known as the SSRM tax. Mandatory if you have streaks and no ECM.

If you're a scout or a brawler it's worth it to counter ecm around you so your lrm mechs can lock on to things. I've been sidelined for like 90% of a match because no one on my team could counter ecm and give me targets.

Its not just for SSRMs, it lights the target for the whole team letting LRM boats get in on the fun.

Lately I ended up pulling my bap. Does not seem to counter ecm as effectively as it should in my opinion. 180 meters is hard to maintain against a spider 5d & the lock delay on streaks takes way to long for it to be very effective. with larger mechs it might be more effective but I run lights most of the time & I have found that tonnage better used elsewhere.

Normal sensor range is 750 meters. Beagle Active Probe and full sensor module will put your sensor range out to 1250 meters.

BAP also speeds up how fast you get the enemy paper doll figure that shows you the enemy armor and weapons.

Bap also counters ECM at close range 150 meters.

For me the only time you have to have it is with a Streak SRM. They are a must have if you encounter a ECM light mech like the Raven or Spider.

It also allows you to maintain target on shut down mechs within a certain range. I don't remember what exactly it is but I think it's within 120 meters? Could be totally wrong. Saves you from having to reget the target info after they start back up, and if you have streaks it lets you maintain your target lock and keep firing even while they're shut down.
