Can we get refunds? As long as PGI continues to produce superior mechs there's no reason to bother owning the inferior ones. Now I understand why players are asking for a mechlab wipe and MC refund at launch of the official game, because they've been misled into thinking every mech has a chance to compete and is effective. PGI has three choices in this matter. 1: Wipe and refund players. 2: Ignore players and lose customers. 3: Implement brackets based on tonnage limits.

Not sure on this one- tonnage limits are a bad idea (it's basically giving up on the idea of balancing mechs and instead choosing to force half the players in a given team to play {Scrap} mechs).

Sometimes it's better to lose a certain kind of... customers...

Apparently there is a piece of paper in the PGI office right now with a list of group sizes and weight limits.

Currently next to the 2 is the number 125.

Now there is a number of people argueing over it. Some are suggesting it could be higher and others are suggesting it could be lower.

But it is certainly possible that come the 17th when you're best friend wants to drop in his new shiny Orion, that he has to convince you to take your Hunchback.

There is no such thing as a scrap-mech, only bad pilots in wrong chassis in the wrong situation.
Tonnage Limits on the way anyhow. And whats the Problem with your HBK? 4SP and 4P with 2 Std275 engines is all you need. (and a few lasers and Srms)
A refund for my c-bill mechs? Are you serious about that?

Are you talking about http://mwomercs.com/...s-45-answered/? Why oh why is it so hard to read the entire text? You know, the most important line for this chart: " please note these numbers are for DEMONSTRATIVE purposes only "

Indeed. Demonstrative. But their written down. That makes them more real and less prone to change.

Besides, it doesn't really matter if it's Atlas and Hunch, or Orion and Hunch or Hunch and Hunch. The point is that sometimes your going to want a mech to weigh less.

The 4G works well, once you realize that putting an XL engine in it is a bad idea due to the Hunch on the right shoulder. Pick your kit, loadout your Ballistic weapon with the range you are after and put in the largest energy weapons for that range into the left arm. If you are toting an AC20 then spare for the Pulse Lasers in the left arm. If you are after AC10 and below in size class then Large Lasers or PPCs on the arm.

But the 4SP is still one of the supreme Zombie Mechs, able to lose half of it's body and still have 50% of it's firepower.

Is this topic about the balance of the Hunchbacks or just a general complaint topic?

Both...either...I don't know. But I do know that Hunchbacks are still very viable and competitive in the game- some of the best matches I've had have been in a 4SP/4G.

Every time someone makes a bad topic about 'bad mechs' or 'hur dur assaults only favored' i like to hop in an underutilized mech and tear **** up with a vengeance.

Only mech that is really just nothing is the Awesome. Thou I have seen people do really well with them I am not one of them. Hunchbacks are still deadly.

I still like my hunchbacks. In fact I did several drops yesterday. The 4p and the 4sp are both competitive still. As with most games like this mechs will wax and wane, but given the amount of control you get in load outs I am sure there is something. You do know that all mediums got a buff recently. Faster arm reticle and torso twist. They feel quite nice now.
