They are not letting MC people have first chance to buy the Mech as a nice gesture. Every new Mech ever released has been available for CB right away, they have just decided at a meeting that some people would be stupid enough to pay money for them instead of CB so they now release new Mechs for MC only and then CB a week later. We ain't getting this early for MC, we would normally get this Mech at this time for CB, but as MWO is doing so badly they are getting totally desperate.

Or perhaps because it's currently doing well and it's a different marketing model that they've tried and shown to be successful. For each of the previous mechs that have been released in this manner I have generally seen MC purchased standard variants at least once a round, so there are definitely folks out there doing it.

And why resort to calling someone who decides to make the MC purchase stupid? That's more than a little petty and speaks to your general dissatisfaction with the game when you begin attacking the people who still enjoy and pay for it. If you've become that upset over things perhaps you need to break away from the game and the forums for a while?

Ohh I think its a reasonable policy, and its fair as its just an eare for when the game is more complete, in its present state I just an early start, won't be buying anymore MC, until the game is more complete, i've spent more than enough and seen very little progress of which about 40% has been bad

This is true - you die extremly fast. It´s a great Mech. It´s nice looking and the firepower is in line for a heavy Mech. Hardpoints are a bit special but interesting. The movement is fine - quicker as assaults but not as agile as mediums. The paintjob of the Protector is one of the best! Great job. But you nearly always die before you can do moderate damage. I have played around 170 matches with the Protector and additional 120 matches with variants and i´m still dying much more and much faster as in other Mechs.

Two reasons (my own opinion of course):
- the Orion is too tall, it has the same height as an Atlas. Everyone can hit you from all over the map. I don´t want a dwarf Orion but this is a bit too much.
- Everything hits the Center Torso. Really everything.

So with this - a huge rock with a magnetism CT you are a free kill.

What is the point with the Orion? Especially with the Protector! I paid money for this great mech. I mean i don´t want a pay2win Mech but I want my fun with this game and not pay2die. I like this game. I want to pay for more, for more fun and for more hero mechs. But this is frustrating.

like my protector but I changed the paint to green, seems to work ok and I don't become a punching bag for the opposing team. with the bright orange paint that you can see clearly from far away especially with advanced zoom, everyone knows your a giant center torso cough Orion, that's just asking to be shot to pieces heh!
